Major Reasons Why Young Singles Should Stop Worrying About Finding A Spouse

My heart aches for men and women who have suffered self-doubt, rejection, profound sadness, as well as a shattered sense of reality when a potential suitor ended things abruptly or they slipped silently away without a proper goodbye (story of my life). I understand that so many people have experienced these things and some unlucky few have experienced way more than what was previously listed.

For many, these experiences act as a hindrance to getting into another relationship mainly because of fear. Even though singles think this way, they still feel alone at times, worrying themselves to death because they feel a sense of urgency to find a suitable partner before time runs out on them.

If this is you, please understand that these laments and fears are nothing new.

Here are the major reasons why young people should stop worrying about finding a spouse!

a) Don't worry, odds are that you will find a partner

In 2020, statistics show a global decline in marriages from 69% in 1970 to 64%. There are several potential reasons for this. Although the proportion of married people has plummeted, in no way does that mean that they are alone for life. Rising numbers of people around the world are postponing marriage until their 40s or 50s, while others are living with a romantic partner, although they may not legalize the relationship. When this more expansive definition is used, the odds of getting married are still in your favor. Researchers project that roughly three-quarters of Millennials and Generation Xers will ultimately marry by age 40.

b) Being single sure has its rewards

Yes, that's right, being single has its benefits. Studies show that a growing number of people are single by choice, and relish the opportunity they have to do whatever they please. Being alone gives people the autonomy to choose how they live, where to live, what time to get home, what to watch on television, and what to eat for dinner. This means that we have fewer social obligations and is free to pursue hobbies and adventures that we can’t if we're married 😉
I understand that being single is not for everyone, but a growing number of people choose to remain single for longer than ever before. During these years, you can focus on other things in life such as pursuing your career goals and spending more time with family and friends.

In summary, people who are single are just as happy as others who are married. There is absolutely no need to worry about finding a partner in your young years. My advice to you is to learn how to arrange your life so that you are surrounded by activities and physical environments that enhance your daily happiness.
