The movie epic was an adaptation of Ramayana. As we know, Ravana kidnapped Sita and took her to Lanka. And when Rama finds out, he invades Lanka and takes help from Hanuman to bring Sita back. This is exactly what is modernly represented in the movie. The beginning of the movie shows a group of people brutally killing many police officers. Then they kidnapped a woman.
It was later learned that the woman who was kidnapped was named Ragini (Sita), wife of SP Dev (Ram). And when the SP finds out about this, his suspicion goes to Veera (Ravana), who is the name of a tribal leader and a terror. The SP then went out to rescue his wife Ragini. And the forest officer Gyanprakash (Hanuman) helped him in this journey. This is how the story of the movie goes ...
There is also a Hindi remake of the movie. Of course, it would be wrong to call it a remake, because both Hindi and Tamil versions are released in one day. Vikram is seen as Veera in the Tamil version, Abhishek Bachchan is seen as Veera in the Hindi version and Vikram is also seen in the Hindi version. However, here he has played the role of SP Dev, not Veera. And Vikram made his Bollywood debut with this movie.
Apart from Vikram, Aishwarya and Priyamani have also been seen in two versions. Mani Ratnam has directed both the versions and A.R. with music in both the versions. Rahman. And as always, A.R. Rahman's music was excellent. In particular, I really like the songs 'Behne De' and 'Veera Veera'. Besides, the locations shown in the movie were also very beautiful.
