This is a South Korean drama series written by Yoo Jung-hee and directed by Kim Cheol-kyu. As the main cast Lee Joon-gi, Moon Chae-won and Jung Hee-jin are starring. This belongs to the melodrama and thriller genres. Flower of Evil is a completed drama in every hand. In my aspect, it’s a masterpiece that comes once in a while.

Baek Hee-sung is a man with a fake identity who married a high-ranking detective in the criminal investigation unit Cha ji-won. He is hiding a huge secret about his past life from everyone. But he is a perfect man in every way. He is an ideal husband, a good dad, a real man who is living a perfect life with a beautiful small family. Then what is he hiding? What could his previous life have been like?

From the very first episode, the facts of a serial murder that was buried a long time ago begin to be revealed again. At the same time, it shows us some facts that cast doubt on him. Then we wonder if he is hiding his identity for this reason? Does that mean he is a criminal? His detective wife gradually learns who he is. Then will that love remain the same? So many questions pop into your head. The story goes on like this with so much curiosity. The new characters in the story add more curiosity.

I have watched a considerable number of Korean dramas in my life and now this has become my favorite. This is the first drama I saw which builds twists on the main twist. It’s hard to believe how did they do that. In each and every episode, they leave us something to guess. We see the protagonist Baek Hee-sung as a stone-hearted person who feels nothing. But in appearance, there is no other caring or loving person. What is his real personality? Is he really a serial murderer who is good at faking emotions?

Lee Joon-gi did a great job here. It’s unbelievable how he acted like a person who has no emotions. It’s hard to say that it was his acting or reality. Simply he was living in the character. You will begin to love him when he smiles and feel sad about him even if you cannot understand him. I feel there no one better suited for this character than him. Really amazing!

The series presents how a person with some mental disorder can be affected by society. How such a man can survive when society treat him badly? This is simply addictive and every episode will take us in roller-coaster riding of emotions. Are you finding a thriller with a little romance or a series with uncountable twists? Then here it is!
