Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, said in a speech at Stanford University "If you live each day as if it were the last day of your life, then one day you will find you are right."

This quote is from the ancient Roman philosopher Marco Aurelius' Meditations "Moral perfection consists in living each day as if it were the last day of life."

The first time I heard this quote was shared with me by my old class in a class meeting, he wanted to inspire us to cherish the days of our lives, especially such precious time of youth and study.

This is really useful to motivate us to cherish our time. However, when we think of today as the last day of our lives, what we probably think is: the last day, of course I have to do what I want to do but do not dare to do. I have to accompany my family who has always given me love and care. I have to fulfill the long-standing promise to myself. Today's class does not have to listen to, today's homework does not have to do, because this is the last day, etc.. It seems to be a bit negative, but it is really the most important thing. However, this is really the most real thought at that time.

So why should we think of every day as the last day of our lives? We should think of every day as the first day of our lives.

Since thinking this way, I don't dwell on what happened in the past, but live the first day of my life with joy. In addition to that, the first day of life means that there can be more hope for the future. So, we say the first day of the new year, the first day of school, the first day of work, the first day of love, the first day of travel ...... and so on; all these first days we carry on with the best of ourselves and the best of hopes.

So, after I take today as the first day of my life, I will do my best to live this day of my life and try not to make it regretful.

In fact, there is no difference between treating life as one's first day and one's last day in essence, right? It's just that individuals have different views and different feelings, so their attitudes and actions in the face of the first day and the last day are also different.

But no matter what, I hope we can treat each day of our life well, and treat each hour, each minute, and each second with devotion and respect.
