It is a family comedy in my opinion very funny that teaches us many values for children and parents, since life often becomes monotonous and parents just become overbearing.
It is inspired by the book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal; directed by Puerto Rican director Miguel Arteta himself of a terrible, horrible, bad day... very bad!".

The film is based on a mother (Jennifer Garner) who for her everything is based on saying "NO", she considers herself the one who puts order in the family since the father (Edgar Ramirez) is more carefree so to speak.
The plot begins when they go to a school meeting to see the grades of their younger children and finds that both children say that their mother is authoritarian, her son made a video where he compares her to Mossolini, she can not believe the comparison because it is for the good of the family, suddenly they meet a teacher who gives them the idea of a TODAY YES! A day of 24 hours where parents can not say no.

When she gets home this idea is barely named but her eldest daughter challenges her and tells her that she will not be able to make it through a whole day saying yes, the mother accepts the challenge with certain conditions that apply to the day and thus is born what is called Hoy sí.
This movie was released by Netflix on Friday March 12, 2021, I couldn't wait to watch it with my kids.
This movie is a balm for children, especially in times of pandemic, teaches us:

  • There are always moments where it is good to have fun, not everything can be no.
  • From time to time parents should be flexible, too much authority is not good and distances the family instead of uniting it.
  • Children have great ideas that should be listened to.
  • Both parents must have equal authority, there can't be one good and one bad.
  • Trust is part of the family.
  • Instilling values from a young age makes your children great people and even in their teenage years that can be noticed.

The film fulfills its objective, and in the end presented us with the challenges that can come with being parents and that we can meet them while still being fun without leaving aside our family values.
