THE AFRICAN WOMAN II

in hive-120695 •  9 days ago

Hi guys, how are you doing today.

I decided to work with a familiar but different medium today which is the Charcoal stick.
Charcoal has been the most reoccurring medium in my major art piece which has become a major and essential medium for me.
Charcoal's raw, expressive quality resonates deeply with me. Its tactile nature allows for intuitive mark-making, capturing the essence of my subjects. The grungy, imperfect texture conveys vulnerability and emotional depth, echoing the complexities of human experience.

The African woman is a series of drawing tailored towards promoting the beauty and essence of an African woman in their everyday life.

I like it but I ask you the same as I asked @tezzmax before: you don't have smiling women?

Thank you for showing interest in my work. I believe art is a form of expressing one’s feelings and their immediate environment.
Most of the times, artist tend to reflect their experience or emotions in their works without their conscious consideration and that might have been the case with some of my work, although not necessarily mean that the artist is unhappy but could also just be a reflection of the idea they’re trying to pass which in my own case is a strong and resilient African woman coupled with their sense of beauty.

I haven’t really noticed that point until you made mention of it. I do have works with smiling women that I’m yet to share, rest assured that I’ll tag you when creating the my next post.

Thank you for your sincere observation.
