Who Is An Artist?

Many people sees an artist as just a person who creates art piece of just a person who is exceptionally good in drawing, painting and sculpture, but what if I tell you that an artist is more than just the above three things that I'd just mention above.

But before I continue let us first of all look at the importance of art which from there I think we will be able to compare and contrast who an artist is.

Importance Of Art

• Art provides all kinds of decorations around the world
• Art supports the art and science of beauty
• Art is used geographically to detect location
• All the art works we see is a symbol to something
• Historical information is documented in art works
• Art is used to provide teaching aids in education
• Art is used in cultural expression etc

So now as seen above the importance of art have been listed which of course will guide us into really understanding who an artist really is.

An Artist As An Educationist

An artist can be best describe as an educationist because he teaches and teaching in this aspect comes in so many forms, an artist is an art teacher who studied and teaches art in schools also an artist is also an educationist in a sense that he creates works of art not only for aesthetic but to educate the general public about a certain thing here we sat that all art are meant for a purpose.

An Artist As A Linguistics

An artist can also be best describe as a linguists because he speaks the universal language that everyone understands example instead of using words for road signs they employed the used of graphical signs to aid general understanding of the public.

An Artist As An Economist

An artist can also be best describe as an economist because he creates from the little available resources for the purpose of utilizing such material to make life easier for others at the same time earn a honest living.

An Artist As An Illustrator

An artist can also be described as an illustrator in a sense that he can easily illustrate and direct anything including a story, history with artifacts and even with the air of performing art (drama and dance)

An Artist As A Geographer

An artist can be seen as a geographer because he depict locations into artifacts through creative manipulation of knowledge example anywhere around the world once they see an ekpo mask truly Africa comes into mind.

Though it might not be specific but truly it will convey the knowledge of African culture.

An Artist Is An Historian

An artist is an historian in a sense that he depicts and stores history in art works (artifacts) in a sense that you can just see an art piece and immediately learn about the people's way of life many years back.

So with some of the above description of who an artist is we can all clearly see that an artist is not just a person who can draw, paint or sculpt rather an artist is more than that and as we try looking into it the more we tend to discover about who an artist really is.
