Hello friends,

INTRODUCTION

It is another beautiful day and I count it to be another opportunity for me to share this interesting post with my family and friends in this great community.

Before I proceed any further, I will love to extend my warm regards to our family and friends in Bangladesh, as our heart deeply goes out to them.

In our world today, we will notice that more than half of our population are in one way or the other involved in the abuse of drugs.

And today, we will be discussing on drug abuse and the effects it has on people.

DRUG ABUSE

Drug abuse which can also be called the abuse of substance is explained to be the hazardous and harmful use of psychoactive substances, amongst which may include alcohol and illegal drugs.

It is most oftentimes understood to mean the continuous and excessive use of drugs which often results to a wide variety of health challenges, legal sanctions and most times a retarded social life.

Drugs abusers often get addicted to the use of drug, this is a phenomenon whereby such user cannot do anything productive without the use of such drugs, despite it's negative consequences.

EFFECT OF DRUG ABUSE
  • PHYSICAL HEALTH DETERIORATION:

One major effect of drug abuse is the rapid deterioration it causes in one's health.

The abuse of drug can result to a wide variety of health challenges, which oftentimes includes respiratory issues, liver diseases, neurological disorders and cardiovascular problems.

Just as we have a variety of drugs, we also have a variety of damage it causes to the body when abused, for example, stimulants often results to heart problems while opioids can lead to respiratory depression.

  • MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGE:

Another effect of drug abuse when excessive is that it leads to severe mental health challenge, it sometimes results in paranoia, depression or even severe anxiety.

And when the drugs is been used consistently and continuously, it can cause a deviation in the normal functioning of the brain chemistry, and trigger some extreme psychological conditions.

  • LEGAL PROBLEMS:

Another severe effect of drug abuse is that it often results in legal problems.

Most of this drugs that are abused are illicit, and as such, it's possession, distribution and use warrants legal actions.

Legal issues as we know often results to imprisonment, arrests and a criminal record which can jeopardize a person's personal and professional life.

When an individual has a record of being a drug abuser or any other criminal record, it becomes very difficult for such user to secure a well paying job and become useful to the society.
