Do you believe marriages are made in heaven? Share your opinion.
As such, it's our task to actively seek out partners with God's intervention and guidance. Therefore I do not entirely subscribe to the fact that marriages are made in heaven and I place more emphasis on it being an active personal duty.
Which marriage do you prefer, arranged or love? Why?
In arranged marriage or love-induced marriage. I prefer the latter, this is because an arranged marriage doesn't especially offer the option of a deep emotional connection between partners. It is more like a "you get what you get and you can't complain", this is basically a limitation in choice.
Marriage by love on the other hand offers a vast experience for partners to develop emotional connection, and build trust and bonds with one another. The shared values in this type of marriage usually promise a longer-lasting relationship than that of an arranged marriage in my own view. This is because partners would have been aware of each other's flaws and as such, some form of understanding would have been cultivated.
According to you what is the definition of a happy married life?
I would define a happy married life as one where the partners have grown to understand and live with each other's flaws, strengths and weaknesses.
It is not one devoid of conflicts, quarrels and disagreements. This is because, no matter how perfect, it's somewhat impossible for a union to not have some form of quarrels. That is like describing a myth, something unrealistic.
A happy marriage is characterized by effective communication, problem-handling, and mutual respect and it harbors the ability to grow, as individuals and as couples alike.
Share some reasons behind the increase in mental distance and separations.
The increase in mental distance and separation can be linked to a number of factors and one of which is a lack of understanding. The fast-paced world we live in, unlike the old days isn't very sparing. There is little to no time left to allocate to quality time which leads to emotional disconnection and breaks.
Also, the idea of courtships is slowly fading away. Courtships which is supposed to be a period of time in which people in relationships get to know and understand each other better, their strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes and how to tolerate each other's excesses is no longer taken seriously.
If couples do not take the time to know each other, then the reality of incompatible long-term goals and emotional disconnection among many may not be escaped.
Conclusion.
As much a romantic allure abounds in the idea that marriages are made in heaven. I still see it as a personal responsibility on our part to choose a life partner, understand them and build an emotional connection alike.
By recognizing the importance of communication and understanding, a sense of companionship can abound in a marriage.
