I am honored to be here again so as to tip in my contribution on this week Incredible India monthly contest of February #2| Do you believe behind every successful man, there is a woman? Contest

Let me begin by acknowledging that there are many proverbs which contributes Greatly to knowledge and one of such proverbs is the one that says "To every successful man, there is a woman". While many has tried reframing and paraphrasing the proverb into " To every successful man there's a wise woman", the tenet of the proverb remains unchanged as it points out and showcases the influence, support and contributions that women have in the lives of men.

This proverbs tends to present the superiority of the male gender which is and ancient traditional doctrine while trying to showcase the importance of the female gender in a male domineering world. This tradition presents the male as being a more superior being while limiting the female to the position of mere assistance and this tradition reflects in history when examining the life of Coretta King who stood strongly by her husband Martin Luther jr., and the wife of Mahatma Gandhi, Kasturba Gandhi whose role paid significantly in Mahatma's success.

In my opinion, the female should not be considered inferior or lesser than the male, no one should stay behind the other, rather, both should compliment each other with the aim of achieving their goals because this is what the modern world calls for. A world where a man's success should not be directly dependent on a woman. But rather, both parties should work collaboratively with each others.

The goal of every relationship should be directed towards maintaining a balance in areas such as communication, understanding, respect, romance, caring, trust and even cooperation. Both parties should work towards ensuring that both parties finds peace of mind, happiness, and satisfaction without any fear of doubts. In other to maintain this balance, it is essential to practice the following;

Respect for each other is a very vital part of a successful relationship and it comes to play when each partners customized their activities and routines in a manner to avoid stepping on each other's feet. Here, one needs to avoid things that would promote conflict (unnecessary calls, unnecessary friendship, unnecessary partying etc). When both parties lives to please themselves, a balance will be created in their relationship

Maintaining Space in a relationship is one other factor that creates a balance in a relationship. This could be achieved by realizing that your partner needs to have time for himself and friends. It could also be experienced when you realize that your partner deserves certain privacy and rights such as; the right to private mobile device. Maintaining Space is a function of trust

Cordial communication is the process where both party discusses their plans and whereabout without creating avenue where their partners begin looking for them or something. They should always discuss the activities there will be attending, the achievement they made and the failures they recorded

In my opinion, accepting responsibilities is the misery behind a successful relationship. This could be seen when both parties accepts responsibilities other than pushing blames all the time. Here, they learn to say sorry when they go wrong so as to keep the relationship balanced and moving

In essence, relationship where one person dominates decision-making, becomes adamic and authoritative, such a relationship would become imbalance. To eliminate this, equality should be promote to the highest level.

In my opinion, I feel that in a modern era, both men and women deserves equal everything (respect, opportunity, value, dignity, and recognition). My sincere appreciation go to women such as the Distinguished Margaret Ekpo of Nigeria who had fought bravely for the voice of the women to be heard. Because, both male and female being humans deserves equal treatment in wages, salary, education, politics and leadership.

Despite this, challenges such as wage gap, unequal representation in leadership, societal exclusion and inferiority still exist on the female gender in most of the regions of the world.

To put an end to this, equally should be enforced and reenforced. Equality does not portray bringing anyone down or something, it means ensuring that both gender are paid equally if the same task is given to them at a given time, giving equal opportunity to both genders in regards science and technology, giving equal opportunity on politics (voting how being voted for) etc. the idea that the man should provide in a home should be abolish as both parties should contribute for the growth and development of the family, society, and the world at large.
