After seeing this tower, for some time you will feel that you have not come abroad. Did you know that the clock tower in the old Hussainabad area of the city is the tallest clock tower of its kind in the country? Yes, our own bell house stands proudly at a height of 221 feet.Built to honour Sir George Cooper, the first Lieutenant Governor of the United Provinces of Oudh, the clock tower was intended to be a replica of Big Ben in London. The actual wheel of the watch itself is claimed to be larger than the original. The clock tower has recently been renovated and lights up beautifully at night, making it a great tourist attraction.

It is one of the most famous and popular medical colleges. In 1906, King George V laid the foundation of a renowned medical college - King George's Medical College. The façade of the building was designed in the Indo-Islamic style, to suit the city skyline. What started as a complex of three main buildings has now grown into a complex of more than 10 buildings, all belonging to various departments, offices, hospital, pathology and a museum.

This railway station looks so attractive from a distance, you can guess this by looking at the picture above. Another poster monument for the city, the magnificent Charbagh railway station was constructed in 1926. The main building is made of red brick and resembles a palace with its many domes and minarets. If you look at the station from the top of a helicopter, you feel like you're watching a chess board, with chess pieces neatly on the side. The station has a beautiful garden and the red and white building is against the green cover.

It is a very famous as well as a monumental place. The residency is the greatest evidence of Lucknow's role in the revolt of 1857 or the first war of independence in India, as it is called. The residence of the British command in the colonial era, the complex itself is huge and also used to house residential quarters for army personnel and their families, arsenal, dispensaries, a cemetery, a chapel and a grand ballroom. It is said that during the revolt of 1857, the residence was besieged and most of the cantonment died protecting it. There are also many folk tales associated with it – from asking ghosts for 'bread and butter' in the middle of the night to strange sounds heard at night. Although only the ruins of these buildings remain today, one can still see the solid foundations and old world construction techniques. At the present time, the residency is a paradise for pedestrians with lush, streamlined lawns. In the morning, you can see many species of birds and if you are lucky, you can also see a peacock.
