Incredible India contest by @sduttaskitchen|photographs that are close to your heart.

Thank you ma'am for announcing another contest in the same month. I also thank all the team members of the "Contest of the month by @sduttaskitchen | Share a few photographs that are close to your heart" for inviting us to participate. According to conditions of the competition I selected four photographs for presentation.

Photo 1: FALICITATION OF MY MOTHER

My mother devoted her life in the service of humankind through SRI SRI BIJOY KRISHNA ASHRAM RELIEF SOCIETY managing Netaji Eye and General Hospital in Purulia, a West Bengal state district of India as well as in Kolkata. She was also recently facilitated for her dedicated service as most senior member of the organisation at age 92. In the background of photograph, there is a framed photo of Swami Ashimananda Saraswati, a freedom fighter and colleague of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, was the founder of the hospital in a remote village of Purulia. The place is memorable to me because at childhood I spent a whole year in that place as student of the boarding school run by Sri Sri Bijoy Krishna Ashram.

In the last twenty years, I have never missed the function of Bhai Dooj, also known as Bhratri Dwitiya, Bhaubeej, Bhai Phonta, or Bhai Tikka, except for one year. It is a Hindu ritual when a sister prays for a brother's long life on the day. The epic story Mahabharat described that after killing Narakashur, Krishna visited his sister's home on the next day, where he was welcomed, putting a tikka on his forehead by her. Accordingly, the day is celebrated as Bhai dooj.

Incidentally, I observed this photo with my closest relatives, like mother, sister, and daughter, which is taken every year just after the ceremony. That's why I consider this photo an annual and most memorable one.

Photo 3: PANDEMIC AND FRIENDSHIP

Ofcourse I don't want to remind you those horrible days of pandemic. But we received many lessons and witnessed many heart-wrenching demises of near and dear ones very helplessly during pandemic. We understood value of our relationship and friendship.

On the day of this photograph we met each other after more than one and half years. I reinvented the importance of meeting friends personally. That's why the photo is so close to my heart and memorable.
