Greetings, dear friends, how are you all? I hope you all are fine and enjoying your day. I wish you all good health, wealth and a prosperous time ahead. Today I am here to take part in this interesting engagement challenge floated by the intellectuals behind this community, and I hope I’ll be able to draw your attention towards my post, also you will find my post worthwhile to read and vote for.

What is the preferred gift that can impress you? The reason behind your choice.

I have received numerous gifts throughout my life on different occasions. At a young age, I used to eagerly wait for my gifts from relatives, friends, and other people who were in any sort of relationship with me and no matter what the gift used to be, it was always something that gave me immense pleasure... The materialistic things that I used to receive where something that gave me pleasure and I used to do some good things in my life like working hard for the examinations and making other remarkable works maybe for the sake of recieving very coveted gifts.The gifts included chocolates, trophies, wrist watches, gold chains, et cetera. With age the preferences changed and that desire for receiving materialistic gifts has somehow diminished. With the changing circumstances and the modernisation, the inclination towards these materialistic things has increased. It’s quite obvious that people have become mean and expect expensive materials from others in the shape of gifts. But for me, the presence of my special people around me would always be a special gift for me. Good and peaceful relationship with people and quite selfless interaction with people would always be something that I would consider more valuable than an expensive materialistic gift.Efforts for peace and actions that bring real felicity to the inner self would also be a reason of immense joy that even a dearest materialistic gift could ever replace.

Do you believe the gift is a gesture that sometimes helps to enhance our relationships?

Yes, of course, I think that gift truly is a gesture that sometimes helps to enhance our relationships. It sometimes is the gift that help us to make our bond stronger and to resurrect the broken relationships. In today’s society, gifts also have become a parameter to know the depth and strength of relationships. Gift sometimes becomes a pretext to an approach by which relationship can be revitalised. I would like to cite an example here that I believe will support my argument.Around 10 years ago, our terms with my uncle were not going well, just because of some misconception and misunderstanding that lasted for about a year. The ordeal of being through such a tough time came to an end when my father sent a gift for my cousin, when she got selected for bachelors in medicine. It was just that moment when all our bitterness got washed away and it all turned into something new and pleasing.That gift acted as a panacea and give a new birth to our relationship.

Have you ever received any gift that is still memorable to you;

Yes, of course, there are a lot of occasions when I received gifts that would be memorable for rest of my life, but still, a few moments are very much close to my heart. Most of the times, it has been my birthday when I received more memorable gifts and one of them, I would mention here is the one that I received on my birthday in 2013, when one of my dearest friends sent me an expensive wrist watch along with some chocolates. It is something that I consider the most special gift, not because of its price, but because of the affection and love that it insinuated. It was for the first time in my life that I had received any gift with such intent, and I would no doubt remember it for the rest of my life. The gift was a tacit agreement with something that we both felt but were unable to utter. The importance of the gift can be reckoned by the fact that I still have the wrappers and the box with me, and whenever I see these things in my cupboard, it gives me an insight into those moments that we spent together. It truly is very special for me, and I hope the importance of that person in my life would go on increasing and also the bond we share goes on strengthening with time.
