The main causes of environmental pollution are:

• Industrial waste
  Environmental pollution is a major problem in the world today. Some industries release chemicals into the air that can harm the ozone layer that protects us from UV radiation. Some industries release harmful chemicals into water sources.

The untreated waste released by industries has an impact on agricultural land, water, and air. It is impossible to stop waste from seriously harming the environment and people if it is not properly handled and disposed of. The future of farmers is uncertain.

• Use of plastic and disposable items
  Plastic is almost everywhere, and consumption and population expansion are exacerbating the problem of plastic pollution. Plastic pollution is becoming a serious irritant and a significant threat to the overall environment, resulting in land, air and water pollution.

As plastics contain many hazardous substances, they harm the natural environment and have serious consequences for humans, wildlife and plants.

• Population growth.
  One of the key reasons of huge environmental damage is overpopulation. Furthermore, it's far the result of negative waste disposal, harmful chemical emissions, an boom inside the variety of factories, and an abuse of natural sources.

How can we prevent environmental pollution?

Technology alone isn't always enough to prevent pollutants. For that we should change our habits. To hold the survival of the future generations, we need to subject ourselves, follow our instance, and make sacrifices for our gift properly-being a good way to allow us to attain the destiny generations, little by little, from era to technology.

Every person has a choice to make a small or large difference in what they do every day. Take the time to use a recycling can when it's available. Use a refillable bottle instead of buying drinks. Give yourself time to clean your surroundings, your street, your neighborhood or your city where you live.

Teach students how to make outdoor air pollution detectors from everyday materials. Encourage our workplace or school or public sectors to invest in green energy technology like solar panels, wind mills.

Smog is formed when carbon and dust particles combine in the air, causing breathing problems, fog and smoke. These are produced by the combustion of fossil fuels in industrial and manufacturing facilities and the vehicle combustion of carbon fumes.

Also, these factors affect the immune systems of birds, making them carriers of viruses and diseases. It also affects the body's structure and organs.

Decomposition of human organic and chemical wastes affects land and soil. It releases chemicals into land and water. Pesticides, fertilizers, soil erosion and crop residues are major causes of land and soil pollution.

• Effects on water

Water is easily contaminated by any type of pollution such as human waste or industrial chemical discharge. We use this water for crop irrigation and drinking water. They also become contaminated as a result of epidemics. Also, an animal dies after drinking the same contaminated water.

• Climate Change Impact

Climate change is also a source of environmental pollution. It also affects the physical and biological components of the ecosystem.

Ozone depletion, greenhouse gas emissions, and global warming are examples of environmental pollution. As these water bodies eventually connect to the ocean, they indirectly pollute the ocean's biodiversity. Also, their consequences can be dangerous for future generations. Unpredictable cold and hot climates affect the Earth's natural system.

Have you ever taken part to keep your environment clean?

When I was in school, I was a member of the National Social Service SCHEME called NSS run by the school. At that time NSS CAMP is conducted once a week in the surrounding areas and villages of our school. We have taken steps to protect the environment. For example, I am involved in activities such as removing plastic waste, planting trees, collecting seeds.

When I was in college we did all the above mentioned activities in NSS camp as well. I have also given people awareness about it. Apart from this I have always written posts about anything on STEEMIT. I regularly participated in contests about this and posted my comments.

It is the responsibility of every person to save our planet from these environmental polluting agents. If precautionary measures are not taken, the future generations will have to face huge consequences. The government is also taking steps to create awareness among the public. We should take actions to plant more trees, reduce plastic use, improve natural waste, and reduce pesticide use. This ecological way of life has helped mankind save other species from extinction while making the earth a greener and safer ecology.
