Pressure or Pleasure?

Pressure in this case is synonymous to our obligations, responsibilities or the expectations from others or even from ourselves. Sometimes the consequences of our inaction when considering the potential risks or penalties. All of this will be squeezed into the word pressure, or described as the external motivating factors that influence our decisions.

On the other hand, pleasure is also a motivating factor, but this one is an internal motivating factor like personal enjoyment, the satisfaction we derive in the form of happiness or fulfilment

In your opinion, should we prioritize pressure or pleasure when making selections? Please provide the rationale for your choice.

I would love to pick up, evaluate and stack all the pressure and then put in some pleasure to balance it up. This is because there are some tasks that come with pressure but are not that important. An example is a task that has a dateline, but the consequences it attracts is not severe.
Evaluating will help me screen them out. I prefer this approach because the majority of tasks that fall in the pressure category attract severe consequences, especially obligations and responsibilities.

We have only limited time, energy and other resources. Putting obligations and responsibilities at the top of our scale of preference aka to-do list,
It might interest you to know that I derive both enjoyment and satisfaction from solving my obligations and caring for my responsibilities, which are found on the opposite side of the question. This even leads to happiness or fulfilment.
I can then sandwich in some pleasure like taking my family out shopping or a recreation which makes them happy, and their happiness is part of my responsibility.

Do you consider pressure to be a significant contributing factor to mental depression? Kindly justify your response.

I totally agree with the idea that pressure plays a significant role in cases of mental depression, but my view differs from many when discussing the source of the pressures. It is often believed that the pressure comes from the person's obligations, responsibilities, expectations and the dread of consequences.
These items in themselves are not the sources of stress and depression. Depression comes from our view of responsibility and obligations.
The pressure is not from our responsibility but from our mindset and perspective.
Call the task a load, and it feels different, heavy and unpleasant. Call it a responsibility, and it feels like a responsibility or duty. But if you call it an opportunity, the whole thing takes a different shape, with the possibility of growth and excitement.

Semantics farming implies that the choices of words we use in our daily conversation influence our perceptions, emotions, and behaviour. It's all about perception because stress feels bad, but a diamond is a graphite that has passed through stress. So with the right mindset and attitude, the same pressure that caused depression can transform us into a diamonds.

Engaging in activities that bring pleasure often results in satisfaction
Which can lead to success. What is your perspective on this matter?

It is good to engage in activities that are pleasant. But putting such activities as your top priority can have adverse effects. They are like spices in a cuisine. You need them in small proportions to get a tasty dish. Without them, your dish is incomplete, but you can't make them the primary ingredients in the dish.
Pleasurable activities make life fun, but you can't build your life around it. If sitting quietly under a tree in a lonely place gives me pleasure, doing so all day for a week will create a conflict between rest and hunger, me and my needs and hunger may even make it unpleasant.
Life is all about solving problems and rewarding yourself for doing so. Finding the balance between responsibility and leisure. More work and some play makes Jack a smart man. I don't think he is still a boy. that Jack should be old by now.
