Downvote is a method by which users indicate their disapproval for a post. A downvote signal is not considered good for any post.
Basically , downvote means that you find the thoughts of the person in front of you or his post inferior to your posts. By going on other's post and downvoting , not only offers their account a bad effect, but our account also receives a very bad effect. Also people start to feel that the person who downvoted is very arrogant and does not consider anyone better than himself . It welcomes unwanted rivalry.

Yes, downvote affects our account, our reputation starts falling and gets adversely affected . Now if a post is downvoted , then everyone understands that some wrong or unacceptable things must have been written in it.
Downvote can ruin career on steemit, no one would like to give downvote to anyone and would not want downvote came on his post too, no one look at the downvote with good eyes . Steemit is a platform which only requires socialism and nothing else . The more you work hard on spreading socialism and your positive effect on others , the more you suceed . Less enemies and more friends is what i would suggest you to make .

Yes , I think downvote can help to reduce plagiarism, abuse, and spamming .
Now the thing is that Steemit is a very big social platform and a place where the person and timing you are dealing with remains in everyone's eyes.
Along with this , every steemian has the power to downvote anyone if someone comes to the platform and puts abusive or violet content . Now , then suppose that we go and downvote so then he can also come and do downvote intentionally on our account , this will increase my meaningless struggle for proving myself.
If you look at the other side of it, then suppose that someone is new on this platform and has made a mistake , then we go and downvote it, then here he will struggle without any reason because he did not know. It was very unintentional . He/she did not had such thoughts .
Conclusion
We all should avoid downvote because Steemit is a social platform and you can grow only when you have everyone's support . In my view, it would be better to give a small warning instead of downvoting anyone . To be successful you need friends . .. .. . . .. False or real doesn't matter ..

We must consider giving a negative vote, because we will bring negative consequences for everyone.
