As far as I understand Downvote is a voting system on an online based platform. Online platforms have an upvote system and the opposite voting system is downvote. The Steemit platform is marked with a red symbol. When a person reads an online based article if he doesn't like it or finds the article questionable he can express it by downvoting.
When I started searching to know about downvote. After much wandering, whenever I came to know something about downvote, an unknown fear started in my mind. Because when I learned about downvote, downvote is an eco system. If a downvote is applied to a bullish account, it won't take long for the bullish account to drop in value. Little by little curation builds up a solid foundation over long hours of work. Which can be destroyed by downvoting. When an account is downvoted, that account is negatively affected. As a result, the hope of curation in that account is stopped. The worst-case scenario is that you won't know who downvoted. You won't find a solution if you don't comprehend why your account was downvoted. Then slowly your account will come down. So I think downvotes have a huge impact on an account.
Day by day the number of members on online based platforms is increasing. As a result, some people are resorting to unscrupulous ways to make quick progress. others use voting bots to assist them vote, others use AI bots to help them generate material, and some steal others' writing and claim it as their own. This figure is growing by the day. I think downvotes are very effective in preventing them. Because downvote is an eco system that when applied to an account, account curation stops and the account's value decreases. So I think I believe downvotes help reduce theft, abuse and spamming.

I have tried to reveal as much as I can about the downvote. Another thing I found out is that the downvote system is unpopular with Steemit bosses. Because they are also victims of China downvote, let no user fall. And we are using this opportunity to work in dishonest ways. Which is never desirable. Best wishes to you
