We met in 2017. We both took admision in the same college and our department was also same. Though we were class mates but as both of we were very much introvert that time so we didn't make much interection in our college days and I really didn't have any feelings for him. Then how we became best friends , I will tell you later in my another post. Today I am here to share with you a hidden talent of my best friend cum fiance. I hope you all will like it.

After completing our graduation I came to know that he liked me from my college days but as he didn't express I never felt so. By the way once he wrote a poem to impress me. He sent and I read but that time I didn't notice one special thing about the poem and didn't know he himself wrote that poem. The special features of the poem was if u join the first letter of each line it makes my full name "PINKI CHAKRABORTY". This type of poem is called ACROSTIC POEM. In this poem poet makes a poem, in which u can find a meaningful word or sentence or any name if u join the first letter of each line vertically. As we were students of English literature, we came to know about this type of poem in our college days . But I never think to write about this type of poem myself or never think anyone ever will write this type of poem for me. It was really a hidden talent of him..

Here I am sharing with you the poem he wrote for me-----

"People have ever missed a soul ?
Imagine their beloved, craving for one glimpse.
Never overlook them after self- denials,
Knowing that they only adore them only in visions.
I had never seen starts on a bright sunny day,
Can feel they are present where eternal heavens lay.
Heard never the sound of the sea on a river,
A stream but knows its supreme intention ever after.
Katherine tried her best, but Henry didn't felt her significance.
Romeo knew his devotion to Juliet , he blessed her with nothing but his life .
All devotees never got their ultimate devotion.
But, their passion was immortal in civilization.
Over the decade naive affection never dies.
Remain rising day after day, till death strikes.
They know how to cherries them in dreams.
Yet they may not get their desired ending."

The word 'Acrostic' comes from the Greek word 'akros' and 'stichos' which means 'outermost' and 'line of verse'. The uniqueness of the poem makes it famous in mediaeval age. This feature later used in many languages even in Bengali literature too. In sixteen century this type of poem came in english literature by Philip Sidney and Sir Thomas Wyatt. In Bengali literature this feature was first introduced by the poet Michael Madhusudan Dutta, who was the pioneer of sonnet in Bengali literature. He wrote an acrostic poem, in which we get a name of his childhood friend 'গউর দাস বসাক'(Gour Das Basak), if we join the first letter in each line vertically. I am sharing the poem by the poet Michael Madhusudan Dutta here----

"ভীর গর্জন সদা করে জলধর,
থলিল নদ নদী ধরণী উপর।
মণী রমণ লয়ে, সুখে কেলি করে
দানবাদি দেব যক্ষ সুথিত অস্তরে।
মীরণ ঘন ঘন ঝন ঝন রব,
রুণ প্রলয় দেখি প্রবল প্রভাব ।
স্বাধীন হইয়া পাছে পরাধীন হয় ।
লহ করয়ে কোন মতে শাস্ত নয়।।"

So , today I am ending my blog here. I hope I will come back with an another amazing blog tomorrow. Bye and please do comments and tell me how is the poem my fiance wrote for me? And have you ever read or hear about this Acrostic poem?

The poem truly captures the essence of romance and depth, reflecting Michael Madhusudan Dutta's brilliance. While he is well-known for his acrostic poems, it's important to recognize that his true genius lies in his sonnets!

As an English literature student, you're likely familiar with what a sonnet entails. It is a structured form, traditionally composed of 14 lines, each filled with rich meaning.

I wish both of you a bright and promising future together. Continue to write poems that celebrate your love; may it flourish endlessly!
