Love is an uncontrollable force that when we try to understand it leaves us feeling confused
When we try to force it, it imprisons us. Love is like a rose flower with thorns that can choke one to death. Even a professor is a new born baby when it comes to love.
But above all, love is patient, caring, kind, it over looks mistakes and doesn't keep records love forgives.
Valentine is an amazing period. It occurs on the 14th of February each year. This is a season where love is being displayed.
Valentine has it's root from Rome. During the 3AD, a certain emperor by name Emperor Claudius II outlawed marriage because he believed single men made better soliders. A certain priest who is a christian martyr by name St. Valentine, defiled the law and secretly married. When the Emperor discovered, Valentine was arrested and executed.
In modern time, the 20th century has commercialized valentine with the sale of greeting cards, chocolates, and other gift. This period, It is a period celebrated to show appreciation for loved ones through gifts and other gestures. This period is so significant cause through gifts and warm greeting cards, I'm able to not only appreciate my loved ones but tell them how amazing their presence in my life is.
Trust me problems can't be solved by fighting but by love. Let me share my story with you
A problem arouse in the family whereby my aunty being the last born insulted my mom which is the eldest of the family. This created a problem because all the elders promised to deal with her. All the children where told to avoid her, no one went to her house and vice versa. During this period, she was due of delivery.
The elders told her to go beg her elder sister being my mom for forgiveness she was adamant and refused doing it. After delivery a baby girl, non one in the family visited, she was avoided like a plague. Same happened during the child dedication of the child. No one in her family visited, She started becoming lonely and longed for her family. This continued for two years not until she came on the 1st of Jan 2025 to apologize. Mum and her family forgave her and now no one is denied access from visiting her. As I always say let love lead now, no more dispute at home.
My most favorite and loved person is my dad. He is one I can never trade for any other. His live supercedes the live I have for anyone except God.
He has proven instances daily as a loving father and has taught us the necessity of love not only among family, but the society as a whole.
I remember an instance where I went to the hospital and an a man complained of being beaten by the child. I covered my face in shame. The society has tend to treat men unfairly and has made the children believe only mother is gold which is a failed ideology.
I went out of the gate once , hurrying to catch a vehicle to school when a fierce dog rushed to attack me. I screamed and dad rushed out of the house with a towel tied round his waist. He rushed towards the dog with an iron and the dog fled. He made sure I was unhurt and took me to board a vehicle while saying sorry.
Same happened when I was almost attacked by a snake that hid in our backyard. Lots of situations has happened. The fun times we laugh and dance together, periods I'm sick and he's always there, on my matriculation, from birth and everything , he has been my super hero and best of friend.
I love him so much for he has made love easy and simple to give out to the society. Love is not only by gifts as he said, but also by greeting, smiling back at people, avoiding indecent words on people, giving an helping hand and appreciating people's effort. Forgiving mistakes and not keeping record. This is all about love, this is all about valentine give love out. When you see someone without a smile, do well to give them.
