Fresh Beginnings: A Healthy morning with healthy habits and fresh guavas
Well, today was the day that I woke up early and my aim was to make it a productive one, and that includes starting right with a good choice of food. Getting up earlier than everyone else has its charm – there’s no noise, no stress, just a hopeful light of a new day.
When I woke up, the next thing that I did was to engage myself in the everyday hustle and bustle, that made me active. The first thing for me was to cook a green vegetable salad which, in my opinion, is useful in the morning. Every vegetable I put into the bowl seemed to me to have its own past—deep-orange carrots with beta carotene, tomatoes containing antioxidants, coldness of cucurbits and finally bell peppers which gave out green flashy color to the dish. Adding all the ingredients in that bowl, I could sense the nutrients being enriched inside the bowl itself and the Bursting flavours that were there to wake up the taste buds. Low-carb vegetables are nutrient-packed, and eating them at the beginning of the day meant I was somehow doing things correctly for my body.
Particularly eating a salad with fresh vegetables made me realize how much vegetables are important to our well-being. They contain large portions of relevant vitamins, minerals, and fiber all of which are critical in ensuring that our bodies run smoothly. When taken in their natural state, the foods are just as good for the body as they were when they were picked and harvested; they give us an immediate burst of energy and newly awakened freshness.
The next familiar sound I heard was the cart they wheel in with the day’s supply of fresh guavas right outside. A vendor had also come in from the orchards carrying his cart full of fresh green oranges. Guavas are one of the richest fruits of our areas, especially when have been directly harvested from orchards. With such a fragrance, they greedily called to come and taste their noble juicy sinfulness.
Guavas are not only tasty but they also has many positive effects on human body and health. They are rich in fibre which upon consumption promotes good digestion while having vitamin C which enhances the immune system. It has sweet taste and somewhat sharp to taste, but they make good fruits for breakfast or even for that part of the day when one feels like taking fruits instead of sweets. I could not close the opportunity of buying few kilos. Just imagine the pleasure of receiving fresh fruits which were picked not a week ago in some neighboring gardens and came to us without intermediaries. It is an indication of here we are with nature and all that it affords us.
As I enjoyed the fruits of the guavas each and every fruit which was reached to us due to the cycles of growth and harvest of the crops in our region made me feel more connected with the produce. It was so sweet, delicious that each bite immediately quenched my thirst and satisfied the hunger by making me feel that I am having the natural food. It is my opinion that such measures are good health practices as well as patronizing of local producers enhances health and the general welfare of society.
About the morning, I came to learn that little good decisions such as waking up early or having fresh vegetables to eat and fresh fruits from the country positively influence my wellbeing. This is most likely what makes a moment like this helpful in setting the spirit of the entire day by being more lively and spirited.
