In Bangladesh, the marigold flower is called Gada or Genda ful. Despite being a long-standing native of Mexico, the marigold flower has been planted in Bangladesh and has established itself there. The blossoms have a strong perfume and come in shades of yellow, orange, red, and light yellow.

The genus of the marigold flower, sometimes known as Gada or Genda ful, is Tagetes.
Gada/Genda ful, often known as the marigold flower or tagetes, is a genus with roughly 56 species. Breeders of marigolds have created hundreds of new kinds since the 1920s. Yellow and orange marigold flowers, or Gada/Genda ful, are the most prevalent in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is covered in white, crimson, and shades of red, yellow, or orange.
Marigolds, also known as Gada/Genda ful, come in a wide variety; some are popular and easily accessible in Bangladesh. The African-American marigold, also known as Gada/Genda ful (Tagetes erecta), is also known as Boro Gada/Genda in Bangladesh. The flowers are big and rounded. Yellow, orange, or light yellow describe these blooms. Plants can grow to 91–101 cm (36–40 inches). In Bangladesh, ''Kashmiri Gada/Genda'' refers to another variety of marigolds, Gada/Genda ful or French marigolds (Tagetes patula). Plants have a maximum height of 12 to 25 cm (5 to 8 inches). Red, orange, and yellow are the blooms' primary colors. There are also bicolor motifs that are red and orange.

People cannot imagine a marriage ceremony without marigold flowers or Gada/Genda ful during the "Gaye Holud" or "wedding shower" rite. The finest combination for the girls is yellow or orange sharee and marigold flowers, or Gada/Genda ful garlands, which are a need. Marigold flowers, also known as Gada/Genda ful, are necessary for Bosonto Utshob, or enjoying the spring season (the spring season in the Bangla calendar comprises the months Falgun and Choitra). People wear yellow dresses on the first of Falgun to honor the month-long celebration, especially girls who adorn themselves with gada/Genda ful garlands or marigold flowers.
