Hello steemian friends!!! Today I am here to participate in the first July contest presented by @sduttaskitchen on “Which do you value more: Name or Fame?”

Living in a modern society, the concepts of name and fame are often conflicted in terms of which one should be valued more. These two concepts have different meanings and implications in a person's life.

In my view, a name can refer to a person's personal reputation, character and personal integrity. A good name is a reflection of actions and behavior that are consistent with moral and ethical values. People with a good name will be better known for their integrity, honesty and reliability. A good name is built through commendable actions and often takes years to develop. A good name is something personal and not always known by many people, but it is very valuable in one's social and professional circles.

On the other hand, fame refers more to wide public recognition and popularity. According to the habits I have seen, fame is often obtained through mass media, such as television, film, music and social media. Those who are famous may be known by millions, but this recognition is not always related to moral or ethical actions. It is possible that fame can be achieved quickly and sometimes in controversial or sensational ways. Often this popularity can be temporary and depend on trends or public opinion that can easily change.

Names are more important to appreciate because they reflect a person's true character. A good name is a basic element of strong relationships and trust, both in individual and professional contexts. When we have a good name, we are more likely to be respected and trusted by others. A good name also contributes to our own sense of self-worth and dignity. Even in the long term, having a good name will provide stability and reliability that is not easily shaken by changes in trends or public opinion.

On the other hand, fame, although it can bring widespread recognition and influence, is often only temporary and superficial. Fame can disappear as quickly as it came, especially if it is not supported by meaningful actions or real contributions. Sometimes the pursuit of fame can cause great stress and unrealistic expectations, which may have a negative impact on the mental and emotional health of the owner of that fame.

On the other hand, it can hardly be denied that fame can also be used for good purposes. Those who are famous have a platform that can be used to influence positive change and advocate for important issues. Often, for that impact to be sustainable, fame must be backed by integrity and strong values.

From the description I mentioned above, it can be concluded that although fame can provide benefits in the short term, a good name is a more valuable asset in the long term. A good name reflects our character and integrity, which are the foundation of healthy relationships and trust. Therefore, it is wiser to cherish and build a good name rather than chasing fame which is often temporary.
