Economic Diary - 17/01/22: Shopping At Achimota Melcom

Shopping is an interesting activity that allows you to not only buy what you need, but also to discover new things. Today is my first shopping day in Accra. There wasn't much to buy because I had already purchased the most of the items that I will need and use this month.

I needed shower gel, laundry detergent, and a few other products, so I went to Achimota Melcom in Accra today. Melcom is one of Ghana's largest retail chains, known for its low prices and high-quality products.

Giving discounts on their items on a regular basis makes their products very affordable and as a result, they have been able to capture the hearts of many Ghanaians who shop at their stores.

I went straight to the shop after school and bought some of the things I needed, such as shower gel, liquid detergent and three-in-one pepsodent tooth paste, all of which cost 33 Ghana cedis or 13.05 steem.

I had to wander around shops for a while before finding everything I wanted, which is an aspect of shopping that I despise, especially when shopping at large shopping malls like Game shop, Shoprite and Melcom.

You're likely to see the same products, but they'll be of a different variety or, in some cases, a different brand. Knowing what product you're interested in and want to buy before going to a shopping mall might help you save a lot of time.

Seeing multiple brands of the same product can be incredibly confusing, and unless you know what you're looking for, you're likely to buy the wrong thing and subsequently regret ever shopping.

Though I wanted a few items in addition to what I bought today, I noticed that they were out of stock on those items, so I think I'll have to embark on another visit soon. Shopping has always been a fun activity for me, and I had a good time at Melcom with the few minutes I spent there. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
