What specific steps have you taken to reduce electricity consumption in your business during the summer?

The power supply is a very good source to man, electricity is very important to man as it helps man to live comfortably because the presence of electricity makes man have access to charging phones, batteries and others.

Businesses during the summer season is my best because it's a season of experiencing warm weather so, to reduce the consumption of electricity, I simply do not switch on any appliance that would consume the power supply such as the AC and fan since the weather is always warm at summer.

Have you invested in any technology or tools to monitor and manage your electricity usage?

Yes, I still live under my parents and anything my parents does I believe it is of my own use too, we have what is called Prepared Meter this Meter helps to manage the use of the power supply such that the money to be paid to the AEDC (Abuja Electricity distribution company)will be according to the power consumed as monitored by the prepared Meter.

Businesses that does not uses light are very rare because in my part of the world, almost all businesses uses light in one way or the other. The prepared Meter can be used both at home and in the shop as far as the reading is been taken.

What advice would you give to other business owners struggling with high electricity bills in the summer?

I will advice them to get a prepared Meter fixed in their shops. As a business owner, I can choose to only use the refrigerator for a particular periods of hours and then off it and also, the outside bulbs can be switched off at day time to reduce the amount of power supply consumption.

Now, as you are struggling from high electricity bills, it is advisable to manage the use of the power supply as I advised because the prepared Meter reads and takes note of power usage.
