SEC - S15W3 : LIFE AS AN ENDLESS STRUGGLE

INTRODUCTION
It is a rare privilege to be given the opportunity to also participate in this exciting contest... Life As An Endless Struggle. Struggle they say is part of human life, it is what makes us appreciate and celebrate our wins and successes. In the subsequent paragraphs we will discuss in detail about the above topic.

Humans are complex being in nature. We are wire or created to desire and these desire or needs are insatiable. These insatiable needs is what usher-in the endless life struggles. This is so because when one desire or challenges are met, another one set-in because of our insatiable nature. This inturn makes life to be an endless struggles in every day life.
Simply put, life as an endless struggles are the constant desires and challenges that is causing us to suffer emotionally, physically and mentally everyday .These life struggles can be prolonged if not handled properly.

As a human I am also saddened with many desires and challenges as discussed in one of my previous post...Big Desires And Toughest Challenges In 2024source, but now as a mother my personal challenge is to see my only child grow to be a fine, God-fearing, responsible and successful young man in life. This is a serious challenge because we are living in a world where critical times are hard to deal with. Children are puffed up with pride, disobedience to parents, disloyal and head strong. And no parents want to see their children fail. Infact we all want our children successes to be better and greater than ours.

My son is not immune to the above mention disqualifying traits. Infact it still hurts to know that, all the effort I made some years ago for my son to learn a trade or go to school and even joined the Nigerian Navy was in vain. But that is not withstanding, I am not giving up on him. Thank God maturity has set in, he is now calm and ready to go to school, so I am going to do all the best I can and send my son to school because they say... Education Is The Key To Success... He has just picked up a jamb form and I know for a fact that after his schooling, God in his infinite mercy will grant him a good job. Above all, am showing him the ways of the lord.

At times in life when situation beyond our control become intense, just let it rest because time they say heal wounds. This is applicable in my sons case. The following are the detailed practical steps I took to overcome my personal challenge (which is the betterment of my son).

1-Self-discovery. Though it was a difficult decision but I allow him to pack out of my house. He relocated from Uyo Akwa Ibom State, to Port Harcourt, River State, where he stay with his friend. With this, he was out of his comfort zone to learn from his contemporaries how they were surviving and to discover and harness his potentials. He was able learn how to make decisions for himself knowing that he will have to deal with the consequences that comes from his decisions.

2-Stopped financial aids. This was a practical approach because children at times tend to abuse their parents tender love and care. So since he was no longer living with me and I wanted him to take responsibility of himself, I stopped sending him money. And this approached work out good, because he was able to get a job and finally rent apartment of his own of which he is inviting me to come visit.

3-Giving Practical Advice...I was always there maintaining good communication line and give a listening ear whenever he called and complained of one problem or another. I always reminded him of life morals/ principles. And the need to improve himself by going to school. And my effort really pays off.

In life, certain principle is not always applicable to every situation. What works for me, may not always work for you. So I have always been optimistic and surround myself with positive vibes. One principal in life that has always make me remain strong is what is recorded in 1 Peter 5:7, (throw all your anxiety to God because he cares for you) and Psalm 55:22, (throw your burden on Jehovah and he will sustain you). This is to say that any challenges I don't have control over, I hand it over to God.

CONCLUSION.
There will always be life long challenges as long as we are alive. So let try and live a simple lifestyle, maintain positive attitude and what ever we don't have control over, let throw it to God because he cares for us.
