Hello Steemians, it's a beautiful day to be alive, such an amazing season we are, I as well believe we are all doing great. So this contest topic is really a personal topic for me considering the ups and downs I have faced here on Steemit and I am here to share with you all what the challenges were and how I overcame them.Special thanks to @steementrepreneurs and @harferri for always putting challenging contest as this for us with rewards and as well learn from eachother.
The Challenges
I joined Steemit on the 4th of May, 2023 because a friend of mine @sureway044 introduced me to after getting to know how passionate I was towards writing, I knew it was a great idea but then, I was curious if I would be able to put up good contents to the satisfaction of Steemians but then I decided to give it a shot.
The first challenge I had was my self-expression, I really lost this trait in my after I stayed for many years without putting up articles, so coming to a new challenging platform as @steemit will be totally demanding of me to go extra mile expressing myself in writing again. So I was a bit scared and always nervous anytime I get to carry my phone to type.
Secondly, the one that I almost gave up was when my achievement 1 post stayed for about four days without being verified, I was beginning to think I never fit in to to the taste of the administrators, it was really hard on me, I had to be meeting with my friend that introduced me here regularly to know what was wrong, but he kept reassuring me that I will be verified but for me, I was thinking maybe I will just quit anyways.
Also, the next challenge I faced was the challenge of plagiarism, seriously, I have never know using a picture without involving the source was a thing to worry about, not untill I joined Steemit, I was warned by one of the country greeter about it, at this point I never knew what to do, I have to go learn more about plagiarism on the newcomer's community and it really helped.
Moreso, in life, I have this challenge of taking steps in my life maybe because of the things I have faced in life. I feel really nervous taking risk, it was really hard giving Steemit a try but I guess I really had to do. There are some opportunities I have lost in real life because I just couldn't take risk and that affected me.
Furthermore, on Steemit, there are days I will make a whole lot of research and coming here to publish it, I won't get a single vote or support, those days, I will feel so broken and will be forced to think I never gave in my best or my best wasn't enough either ways.
How I Overcame The Challenges
For every challenge, there is always a way out. I always believe this, so when I had the issue of expressing myself in writing, I had to go extra mile researching how to put up captivating content inorder to improve my writing craft. I will tell you, I have really improved on my writing game and it is getting better day by day.
Secondly, the days I don't get a single support on my posts, especially, new communities I just joined, I will just get back and see the kind of contents they really want to see and get to understand how they operate before I publish my next article there. Also, if I still don't get a support, I have learnt to be patient enough to understand that some days are like that, it can't be better everyday.
Then, on my achievement 1 post that took time to be verified, I applied patience again, because all I have got to learn from this space is, you need to be patient enough else you will be forced to believe you are not just good enough meanwhile there are others looking forward for you publication.
For the issue of plagiarism, I was able to read more and get to know how to avoid plagiarism as Steemit community stand strongly against it, so after my achievement 3, I mastered the act of using source Incase I get to use copyrighted images inorder not to be penalized. After then, I downloaded Canva and decided to create designs of my own so I could be using on contest such as this.
Lastly, on my inability to take steps in life, I have been reading books inorder to have intune with wonderful risk takers that made it out. I have read so many books that taking risk now doesn't seem risky anymore, at some point I will say to myself "the worst risk is the risk of not taking any risk". This has really helped position my mind towards the ugly side of life as well.
In Conclusion
Challenges aren't here to break us, most times, they come so we learn and readjust. There is no worst risk as the risk of not taking any risk. The ideal point of life is exploring, so don't be afraid of attending to challenging aspect of life, there might lie your glory.
