First, customers bring all types of fabric for washing, dry cleaning, ironing, starching and others. Fabric isn't restricted to what is worn only as even rug carpet, duvet, shoes can also be taken to a laundry shop for cleaning.
Laundry and dry cleaning
Laundry involves using water and soap to make a cloth clean while dry cleaning using chemicals and other solvent to remove stains and keep a cloth or fabric clean.
Tools for Washing
This includes basin, water, soap, wash machine, chemicals etc.
Sometimes some stains get very tough and needs to be soaked in water. Or kept for a while to soften the dirt.
This washing is closely followed by drying, this can be done be either spinning using the machine or airing it outside for the sun to dry.
After this process involves ironing and packaging.
Now this may seem like an easy work but No. Washing and maintaining quality of the fabric is a customer's priority and also the laundry man's biggest fears. This comes from the fact that a material might not have been worn before being taken to a laundry man. Another problem is a material might be hand washed enable and when used in a machine gives different results. Another problem is the soap used. Some people are allergic to certain smells and problem might arise when the person comes for collection. Also a mistake might results in colour change, a tear, a stain etc. All these are the hazards involve but the merit outweighs the disadvantages. And at the end of the day, money is taken home as a material can go for $10-15.
