Many people venture into this business because there is money in it. I would have tagged a man/guy here, but women go to the market often, and they can testify how much they buy an Eva bottle of red palm oil in Nigeria; in some places it has clocked 40,000. I choose to tag Ma'am @ngoenyi and @ruthjoe, My recent return to Uyo City fed me this info. What did I start recently? Not I per say, but it's Dad's investment. He purchased farmland some years ago that has in it a very good variety of palm fruits. This is the major crop product export my state offers to other states; after us is Calabar, so processing this is very common. Only those with capital can compete in the production sector because people lend out lands and communities give out plots to people who can afford it.

People in the village survive with this; they have the largest plot of ancient palm trees, most of which were cut down some decades ago to plant a more yielding seed provided by the government in Nigeria before when there were no politics in agriculture.

This business is one of the greatest, and I am not publicising it because I do it, but because we use oil daily and you can purchase from me if you wish in Steem. The only problem here is that I can't export it outside my country but within. Maybe when this business grows, when I hope it will, with my commitment to this in the near future, hopefully, this could generate more money to invest in Steem.

If you don't want to move from the farm to the mill and the market, you can be a wholesaler. You need to own a truck and capital to be able to purchase a large amount of oil in drums. A drum can contain about 10 to 25 litres of oil, so let's say the oil is approximately 250 litres. Oil is mostly transported in drums, so if a 911 truck has 200 drums, that is about 2000 gallon of 25 litres. No, if a person can buy this from a different producer at N37,000 and then stack them, in total that will be about N74 million, which is why it is mostly a joint venture of over 20 people.

What if it was only one person doing it?, then focus on the amount; if this set of people buys this, they may choose to retail at an additional 7k price, which will be N44,000; now the profit on each rubber is 7k multiplied by 2000 gallons; that will be about N14 million, which is very massive. It is big business; you can always start small to reach this level; I will be speaking of how to start this very little; I didn't elaborate on how we do ours. That will be next time. Keep in mind that the palm oil business is one of the largest local businesses in Nigeria.
