So, I decided to dish this meal.
Since depression is one of the things that can cause one to commit suicide.
She woke up feeling sad about everything. Life hasn't been fair to her. She paced up and down thinking about her life, the way things suddenly turned sour. She kept on reminding herself that she is strong but deep down she is just like a broken calabash, which can't be easily merged.
Everything annoys her. Everyone pisses her off. She screamed on top of her voice, scattering everything within her reach. But, it wasn't enough. She punched the walk severally making her hand bleed.
She thought causing herself pain or shutting everyone out will solve the problem. Day after day, it worsened.
Finally, she swung into depression. Hers was well coated because she smiles excessively outside her room but while alone, her eyes bleed profusely.
Maybe if she got 'real friends', things wouldn't have been that way. Or perhaps, If she had opened up to someone about her challenges, her mood at the moment could have been different.
People are passing through a lot. While some easily speak up for advice and encouragement, others are good at hiding it.
When last did you check up on people to know how they are doing?.
It's not by hanging up your phone when they say "I'm fine, I'm okay, or everything is moving smoothly". It's by strategically knowing if what they uttered is true.
Some people are really good at hiding their problems behind a cute smile. Some don't ask people for help. When they do, they think they are being too clingy or being entitled to the helper. So most times, they keep things to themselves even when it is slowly killing them.
Dear you, I know you are strong.
I know that you don't like bothering people with your problems.
I know you love lending a shoulder to others than letting them do so for you.
But, my dear, you shouldn't let some things weigh you down. Learn to speak up when you actually have people to share it with, people that are willing to listen, those that can go the extra mile to pull you out from the ditch.
You don't have to appear strong always. It is okay to let people in. It is okay to ask for their support. It is okay to seek help when the need arises.
So dear, learn to speak up.
Learn to share your problems.
Learn to let the burden off your chest even for some time.
Till you convert the hidden sorrow in you to a glamourous smile, do not let your buttoned-up nature, take your peace and joy away from you.
You are smarter than this. So, take the right step.
It's time to raise your hands for someone out there to pull you up.

Most times we hide our tears just because we believe no shoulder is there for us but the truth is that in our dear lives, we need another to encourage us to keep pushing.
Life is not easy when we walk alone.
