Good day everyone at Campusconnect and all over the world who may be seeing this post, my name is Akelemor Bright Cleverly and today I wish to drop my interesting piece of writing regarding A tour to OLOIBIRI OIL WELL offcourse it'd be an interesting entry that you wouldn't want to miss to fun out of it.
A TOUR TO OLOIBIRI OIL RIG
On the 4th day of December 2021 was a memorable day for me after I was honored with the privilege to be among the tourists to grace OLOIBIRI OIL RIG in Bayelsa State Nigeria.
I strapped up and took a cinematic shot before embarking on the journey 😊.
Now let's talk about the main gig
OLOIBIRI OIL WELL AND ITS PECULIARITIES TO OUR VISIT
Have you ever seen this question on current affairs; where/when was crude oil first discovered in West Africa or Nigeria??? Yes this question is a very familiar Question to us since we were kid and even most aptitude test too, this question never elopes them. The answer is OLOIBIRI OIL WELL in 1956. Sequel to that, it has been an historical place till date even when the cruise oil got dried up in 2016.
So just that we are clear on the definition, I will have to digress further into my adventurous experience during the tour to this historical place.
The Students from Petroleum and Gas Engineering department decided to go on a tourist visit to see the historical place with their eyes and take also have some academic activities in the process. That was really a good idea 😊 but don't be surprised because I'm not even that Department, I'm from the department of Computer Science and Informatics but as grace may have it, my media aid was needed so I was called upon to grace the tour.
We made ourselves comfortable in the mini bus and took off, after few hours we arrived.
When we arrived at the oil well, majority of what we were doing was taking of photos, Snapchat etc and we were very happy seeing the oil rig...
We have little debrief about the history of the oil well then went inside the Community to tour round which I also embarked on another adventure of taking pics.
The visitation was prolific... It was educative, it was riveting and I enjoyed every ounce of it, I learn alot about the historical place, and more about the formation of oil in the soil. I count it privilege to share my experience on steemit platform.
I want to use this medium to oblige all students to really make out time to have educative visits and yours like this, it really add that little spice to experience and our Academic life.
Thanks everyone for reading.
I had an educative visit onces
It was to dream fm in Enugu we learnt alot of amazing things.
And I have to say truely you are right we as students must be willing to step outside our comfort zone to observe our environment
