Otuoke Annual Festival (Odemion)

Otuoke is located in Ogbia Local Government area of Bayelsa State.

Its a town having a popularly of 15 thousand persons and majority being students of FEDERAL University Otuoke.

The Community respects and observes her Odemion festival annually, and its been celebrated every last Saturday of the month of October, annually.

The festival is characterized by people running and singing after a masquerade.
The masquerade is given a machete to cut anyone who he is able to cut or unfortunate.

It's always a fun time and run time 😊
People leverage the opportunity to go close and touch while also avoiding his swings, but as usual, there are always victims who are caught and cut with machete by the masquerade.

It is believed that pregnant women are to stay at home on that day. That any pregnant woman that comes aside loses her pregnancy.

The festival is also characterized with hunters using their rifles and knockout shooting to the air.

This year's own was celebrated on the 30th of October 2021.
The population was more, atleast 20 thousand persons were on ground to witness the event.
