Campus Games- Season 3/Week 1- The cure- by Team Delva

Hello everyone and happy new month It's a thing of joy to be selected as one for the approved team for campus games. I represent team Delva. Team Delva is a team of four that comprises of different people from different places that came together to input their resources including knowledge, time, power, and not excluding finance(for data) in achieving a goal. However , on be half of my team, i'll be writing on the week 1 contest that demands that each team representative write a fiction on THE ROCKET SHIP. please, grab a cushion, sit back, relax and enjoy.

There has been an outbreak of a deadly virus that has killed almost half of Earth's inhabitants, turning 3000 person's into zombies that has very high appetite for human and animal blood. This virus(clintak virus) affects all forms of life including plants, animals and other microbes. Everywhere was locked down for a very long time to avoid the spread of the varus and Famine was everywhere making people die because of malnutrition. The planet was sent to havoc and was painted red as the zombies ate every source of life that came their way including flies. World leaders was forced to have a meeting at New York where each leader talked about what was happening in their countries.. the location of the meeting was heavenly guarded aseptically and by the military.

During this meeting, the leaders were welcomed, each with their interpreters, and they went further to discuss about the current condition.

U.S president: It's been bloody these passed 1½ years and this matter seems to be never ending. In just a year, this clintak virus has collected all we took years gathering, it collected it in a wink of an eye. we've suffered a huge loss both in the agricultural sector, the financial sector and we are even losing our wives and children.

Germany: One og the frightening thing here is that the virus has a way of performing gene mutation, changing a person who is strong enough not to die from virus into a zombie and this zombie is capable of passing this trait from person to person

Russia: it's troublesome to see that my people are dying aimlessly like chicken. All the research we carried out yielded little or no result so far, we're hoping that we get a positive answer in the coming weeks else things will go really bad.

Each and every country said the challenges they were facing, and they went further to talk about the solutions to their problems, but to no avail. The U.S however contributed as follows.

U.S: during the research of the clintak virus, we tried all the things we knew but nothing came up, so we decided to tame the virus but this time, in an algae that is mixed with one of the samples that was brought to earth from the moon by Appolo 11 which was named eldorin and we discovered that after 48-72hours of taming the virus, the started dieing off gradually. The U.S went further to explain that we used some affected lab rats to do some test but it was to no avail.. the rats witnessed raised temperature, convulsed violently and died. We've been carrying out researches why they convulsed and we discovered that the material gotten from the moon was unstable and it needed something to stabilize it for it's swift functioning.

Nigeria: It's reassuring to hear that we have a lead, does that mean we have to send a crew back to the moon's surface in other to search for the substance that neutralize this eldorin?

Russia: practically

France: Then let's get going shall we? This outbreak is getting the best of me.

U.S: Relax gentlemen, this work will take a huge amount of finance and i want to use this medium to call upon you all to join in this fight both financially and otherwise.

All: So long as our people will be saved, we're in

U.S: Then may God help us.

The gathering came to and end and everyone went their separate ways.

The US prepared to send their best men to go to the moon and discover what will neutralize eldorin to bring out it's effective functioning.
The selected team for the mission was named team Reload and it contained two persons, Mary and Peter.

Both of them has known each other for some time and Peter secretly had a crush on Mary. Mary was tensed due to this was her first time while peter saw it as normal because be was among the Appolo 11 crew. They went home and prepared for their take off which was the next week. The rocketship for take off was prepared and it had a US logo. The day of take off reached and both of the astronaut were prepared and made ready to board the rocketship.

Mary: it's fearful, troublesome and exciting being in a rocketship. You guys did a great job visiting moon for the first time.

Peter: yeah, during my first try, i was as scared as hell, i was motivated by the chief through the radio. Thanks to him i made it through.

Mary teasingly called peter a scary cat and both laughed while igniting the engines.

They initiated the take off protocols and they successfully left the ozone layer of earth.. they landed on the moon after 120hrs of take off and they saw the flag that was left by Appolo 11( peters previous crew) and Peter smiled. They set up a camp in the moon, made research, and found out the substance that neutralize eldorin and they named it petmar-pet( the first three letters of peter), mar( the first three letters of Mary). When coming back, peter poured out his heart about how he feel for Mary and Mary was blushing all through. They planned for a date if they successfully made it back to earth and both of them held hands will going back into the rocketship for a ride back home. They reached earth and landed on the Pacific ocean uninjured, and a group of rescue team was set up to go get them back from the Pacific ocean.
Both of the astronaut was welcomed and applaud for a successful mission.
The dilution was done by the research team and eldorin was neutralized by petmar which they tested in an affected lab rat and the result this time was positive. The research team went further to test it on a ship which yielded a positive result, after which the tested on a monkey and it too yielded a positive result. They went further to test it on humans and to their greatest surprise, it worked perfectly.
Everyone hugged themselves and cried tears of joy. It was communicated to other countries that a cure has been made, the cure was made in a very huge amount and was used to cure everyone including the zombies.
As for peter and Mary, they went on a date amd it worked out.. currently they are married with two kids and they lived happily with their children in New York.
