Well I must say; there are a lot of things people don't know about my school. Sincerely I must confess, No federal government owned University is perfect but amidst this, a number of institution still stand tall and can certainly still stand the test of time.

I'm a student of University of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria Popularly know as UNIUYO.
Uniuyo is located in the heart of the town of Uyo in a Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria. It's a federal government owned institution.

  2. Faculty of Art's
  3. Faculty of Basic Medicals

  5. Clinical sciences,
  6. Faculty of Education,
  7. Faculty of Engineering,

According to standard regulations all this Faculties are fully functional with a Faculty Library attached to each Faculty,
With regular check up from the NUC (Nigerian Universities Commission) the school has made sure to maintain their equipments and facilities but the best, humanly possible.

The university is just less than a month into a new session (i.e, we just began the first semester for the 2020/2021 academic session) 2020/2021.
Personally I'm in the first semester of my fourth year out of 5.

Admission Requirement.

  • University of Uyo, popularly known as Uniuyo is an institution of high standard which has produced so many elite students who have represented the institution at so many international competitions and have won a good number of them.

  • Admission requirements here do seem a bit tough mostly for the required matriculation examination cut off Mark (point)
As recommended by the Nigerian Joint Admission and Matriculation Board(JAMB), the institution maintains a strict conduct of not admitting any students with less than 180 as their score in the Matriculation examination. Sincerely the actual cutoff point of uniuyo is not clearly spelt out but I conducted a personal survey of which came out reasonable

  • A candidate seeking admission to study pharmacy or Law in University of Uyo must score atleast 280 in their Matriculation examinations.

  • A candidate seeking admission into my Faculty; Faculty of Engineering must score atleast 230 in their Matriculation examinations

  • A candidate seeking admission to study Medicine and Surgery must score atleast 300 in their matriculation examinations.

  • A candidate seeking admission into Faculty of Science, Agriculture, Art Basic medicals, Environmentals, and Educaty called a fresher,

  • Also to get admission into Uniuyo as required by NUC and JAMB, a candidate must have at least a minimum of five credits in their O'level certificate examination, including Maths and English.

  • Letter of attestation a reputable organization or personality

  • Certificate of origin

  • Birth certificate

School fees and dues

The average school fees for a session is just about 52000 naira per session

Every session all students in all levels including the 100 level (first year) student are tasked to pay dues in the faculty and also departmental levels few years ago the management of the school had given regulations not to charge more than 1000 Naira for due in both Faculty and departmental levels thus a student will pay a dues of 2000 Naira only per session (That will cover the first and second semester)

So if you ever think of a good but yet affordable university? Then I implore you to make you Uniuyo your choice.
