Hello to everything here in this great community known as CampusConnect it has been a pleasure putting down my publication in this great community. today I will be talking about an important topic which I have titled Teaching, as a profession. An individual in the line of education needs to know this. as though this will further unravel the notion that teaching is not just an activity but a profession. so I beckoned you to stay tuned while I drop my article.

WHO IS A TEACHER?

A teacher is said to be one with the skill and right attitude to guide, direct, point, and pass on knowledge to another person who is known as the student. a teacher breaks complex information into simpler terms for proper assimilation and accommodation of knowledge, and ideas necessary to develop the said individuals in question.

Now a school teacher is just like any other person in various professions, for example, just as we can see the scenario where a doctor is attending to his patients, in that same manner a teacher is seen. teaching is the greatest occupation of them all. a teacher breeds the ideology of students in becoming what he or she wants to be. a teacher grooms his or her student to be the great-minded individuals as seen today. a teacher cultivates the right attitude in his or her students. after the parent the next guardian to students is the teacher.

WHY DOES THE SOCIETY CONSIDER THIS JOB UNPROFESSIONAL?

oftentimes, I hear various people disputing the fact that a teaching job is not a professional job, reasons because many people jump into teaching without passing through due processes, and regarding that fact, we tend to see students who just finished high school still having difficulties to understand certain subjects.

This is as a result of certain school owners not being able to pay a qualified teacher that has passed through the due processes instead they go in search of people who they think know some basic subject peripherally and then give them this job just to be paying them peanuts and as such the teaching job is considered unprofessional. but I am telling you today that the teaching job is highly professional.

Qualified teachers are masters of their various subjects and then pass certain quantified knowledge to students. I tell you today that the teaching job is highly professional regarding the fact that it teaches students, guide, and direct them and today most of these students have their teachers to be grateful for the teaching and knowledge they have gotten.

CERTAIN ROLES OF A TEACHER

Just like I said earlier, a teacher is not just anyone who comes to class to pass on knowledge to students but one who cultivates the right attitude that is expected to see in the students. some basic roles of a teacher are as follows.

• A teacher is a guardian - After the parents of all students, a teacher is a next guardian that cultivates the attitudes which are accepted in society. a teacher makes sure that the students are in good hands, taking care of them as though they are his or her, biological children. a teacher nurtures the said students that he or she teaches. no wonder some students are so close to their teachers because they see them as their second parents. a teacher cares about his or her students and makes sure they are fine and well to do.

• A teacher is a facilitator - A teacher is fair to all students, be it one is from a wealthy, average, or low background. teachers take no sides of category, when students are wrong, they get disciplined by their teachers. this is to bring out the best in them. teacher the students the needed behavior that is expected to be seen by the community is the goal. helps them to improve their self in all aspects. a teacher helps to suppress weaknesses in students thereby encouraging them to work harder in other to become great people in life.

• A teacher boosts the understanding of the students by teaching them what they are expected to know in school. a teacher breaks certain information from abstract to concrete. the teacher helps students to digest what they are expected to know in other to prepare them for the future.

These are certain roles of a teacher. teaching is indeed a profession and not just a casual job. if teaching was never a profession then there wouldn't be a faculty of education in any university, college, and a lot more. we are told in school that teaching is a profession, like any other field of study it qualifies students with a certificate after the end of the learning process.

It is high time we know this, that a teacher determines what a student is expected to know in school. I have seen cases where students complain that they do not like mathematics, that it is hard. the reason for that word is because the teacher in question is not a master of his or her subject and that is why it is hard for some students to understand mathematics, on that note, it is expected that the teacher should be examined if he passed through teaching college or not. the reason why we have a lot of students graduating from high school with little or no understanding of what they want to study in the university is as a result of quack teachers that have occupied certain schools. and until that is fixed the teaching job suffers. no wonder teachers are the lowest-paid workers because a lot of unprofessional workers are there occupying the space of competent teachers.

Doctors, lawyers, engineers, and others are made by teachers. so just as they are seen as real professions in their various categories so as the teaching profession is. we should all keep this in mind, that teachers are the major reason why the student will either progress or fail in education. as parents, it is expected of you to know the kind of school you wish to enroll your children in because it will either brood them into the persons they want to be in the future or brings their effort to waste.

CONCLUSION

I conclude by saying, the children are the leaders of tomorrow. and these leaders can only be groomed especially in school by their teachers. it is recommended that if you want your children to succeed, do enroll them in schools where you see positivity. do not toil with their education, it is very important to look after them regarding what they learn in school, as though it can either make them or break them. make sure the teacher responsible for your child or children is indeed a professional and also a master of his subject, with this comes great comfort knowing that your child or children are in the right and safe hands.
