See, you have to learn to accept it literally when someone says "You have no idea how I am feeling." Even if you think you do understand.

You can be their best friend, their goto buddy/babe. You can be there when it happens but might not notice the depth of the pit. You can swear to go through hell and thorns for them. You can stay wide awake all night and cry with them and still don't get it. You can walk this distance with them but still don't know how far.

You will never be the one with the guilt. You can be awake with them but don't get it how they can't sleep. you can cry with them but don't get in touch to where their tears come from. You can call every night but don't get the depth of every word. You can quote their next words and predict their next action but don't know the storm in their head.

We are all independent when it comes to processing pain and defining experiences. So sometimes, even if you think you do, you don't t really understand.

So, just learn to listen in between and be there, sometimes. Being there is the cure.

I've my smiles always, And I will not loose it. So you know.
