Campus Connect Weekly Contest - Week 18 - Looking Back At 2021 by @ladyofpolicy

Introduction

Greetings everyone and special shout-out to all my friends and fellow students. It's being a long time since the last time I was active due to some personal and health issues that needed an urgent attention but am glad I'll soon be back fully to continue steemit business. Although am not eligible to join this contest as the criteria requires being active in one of the clubs but the topic caught my attention so I decided to take a part in it and for this reason I beseech the admins and his team @whitestallion to kindly pardon me in that aspect.

Brief Summary of 2021

2021 is a wow for me. It's a year full of challenges, trying times,difficulties, failures, success, growth, learning and unlearning, building and loosing. I can't really find the exact word to use and describe my 2021 but this is a year that I discovered a lot of new things about myself and my future. It's a year that I made thousands of decisions and still have to change them within a blink of an eye. It's a year I actually embraced adulthood and it's responsibilities. Within the year, I was broken, depressed, happy, sad, worked hard and even lost interest in so many things. In a single sentence, it was my year of becoming.

What were your goals in 2021?

When we talk about goal, we are simply taking about a set of objective or target we set for ourselves which we want to achieve within a set period of time and I believe that each an everyone of us has such goal set in the year just as myself. Below are the set of goals I mapped out for myself in the year 2021.

√ My education has been a major concern for me and I planned going back to school by all means in the year 2021.

√ I promised myself that I was going to be a self reliant lady and my own boss.

√ I had a target of having a certain amount of money in my account before the end of the year.

√ I had a goal of acquiring at least one skill within the year to add value to my life.

√ I had a goal of investing in my personal life for the purpose of growth.

√ I had I plan of being absolutely intentional about everything I was doing all through the year 2021.

√ Finally, I planned making the name @ladyofpolicy become a brand name.

What were your difficulties

When we have a big goal there must definitely be challenges and difficulties which will try to pull us down but once we overcome such challenges then the goal is achieved already. So below are few of the chalkrbfesi encountered during the long run on 2021.

√ Health difficulties/challenges; So within the period of pursuing my goals in the year 2021, I had a serious health issue known as "Impulsivity and Anxiety" which comes as a result of trauma from past experiences and as a result of this difficulty I had serious health emergencies which posed as a hindrance towards achieving some set goals.

√ Managing some relationships also posed as a difficulty/challenge in the year 2021. As at the time I was working for my boss in January, taking the bold step of becoming my own boss made my boss to hate me and that lead to us becoming enemies and also I actually involved in few romantic relationship within the year but I couldn't manage it very well which led to distractions and finally a breakup.

√ Financial difficulty/ challenge; Everything I planned achieving within the year can only be achieved with money especially being a boss and furthering my education so since I didn't have the money I needed, some of them wasn't achieved.

√ Procrastination and time management difficulty; This is a self challenge that I tried too hard to manage because it was posing as a major difficulty towards achieving my goal but am glad I defeated it to an extent.

What were your victories

Every night gives birth to a morning so amidst every challenge I had, I still emerged victoriously in some aspects as seen below;

√ I was able to establish being my own boss. I stopped working for people and started working with people as a team in order to become a bigger boss. Steemit played a major role on this goal and it's all thanks to my boss @kadosh2340 for recruiting me to the system.

√ Since I couldn't achieve going to school, I was able to discover my strength and weaknesses in terms of area of specialization. Initially, I planned studying optometry not because I love being a doctor but because a close relative died of eye problem so I became oppsessed with being a doctor.

√ I was able to invest in my intellect by studying and reading and also by experiences, initially all my concern was what people thing and their opinion but the year 2021 made me grow to making my own decisions and realizing that my life is about me.

√ I achieved acquiring a skill as I enrolled for classes of becoming a fashion designer which am still attending till now.

Conclusion

2021 wasn't a funny year for me because recovering from the experience of covid pandemic, the lockdown and even starting up something wasn't an easy task. Having a health issue where by once I get angry or sad or even argue I'll be under heart attach was so difficult to handle but am glad that I survived the hardship of 2021 and I became who I am today. Although am still on my journey of becoming but am no longer where I used to be when the year started, just as seen in the picture below.
