Many students are having certain difficulties, but these can easily be resolved by using common sense. We are endowed with brains for a reason—to think with them. Praying and hoping are both positive things, but there will come a time when the best course of action is to use common sense. For instance, if you catch a cold at night, you don't need to pray for or hope for the cold to pass so that you can feel better; all you need to do is obtain a duvet to cover yourself in or put on a sweater. This makes sense.

Yes, having an education helps you become more expansive and broadens your knowledge. However, gaining common sense requires experiences rather than simply reading books, which is why experiences are so important. You'll find that as you go through life, your propensity for problem-solving on-the-spot and making tactical split-second decisions will grow. I recall that the inner bulb of the refrigerator we were using at the time eventually broke and had to be disconnected; nevertheless, it was never replaced.

I once inserted my finger inside the bulb holder out of curiosity and received a painful electrical shock. After that incident, common sense advised me to replace the bulb again. At least having a broken bulb there to fill up the area was preferable to leaving it bare and running the chance of receiving an electric shock once more.

There are certain educated people whose actions make you wonder about their education, and there are others who are less educated but have life experience, and whose actions make you notice how much common sense they are using. The majority of the time, in life, the answer to a certain issue is right around the corner, but occasionally you may only need to use common sense. Common sense should urge you to bring an umbrella or a raincoat in case it starts to rain if you are planning to go outside on an overcast day with a heavy deluge expected. The truth is that if we can use common sense, we'll be amazed at how little difficulties we actually have.

Most of the time, using common sense is all we need to do to stop a huge tragedy. Even if prayer and wishing are important things, there are some things you need to take care of on your own. I find it strange when people assert that prayer can accomplish anything and everything. Just so you know, there are some things that can only be accomplished by using common sense. You might receive an orange through prayer, but in order to get the juice out of it, you need to squeeze it. If you don't, you'll just be staring at the orange forever. In actuality, common sense is something that every human being is born with, but how they use it is entirely up to them.

You must use common sense in all of your interactions and relationships with others. For instance, even if what you have to say is the appropriate thing to say, there is still a proper manner to express it; otherwise, you risk blowing things out of proportion and accomplishing nothing. Because of this, even though common sense is something that everyone has, it rarely gets used. You must first calm your emotions before you can trust your judgment and observation in order to use common sense. In conclusion, it is important to remember that your life's outcome largely depends on how you react to the things that happen to you, rather than just the things themselves. Thus, exercise common sense.
