Campus connect contest: Looking ack at 2021 by @metugejacy20

Hello fellow steemians. We've made it through to 2022 and that is awesome. But we can't deny that 2021 had it's highlights. So I'm grateful for this contest.

Looking back at 2021, there was so much that happened. Many ups and downs, forths and backs and I'll be putting them down here following the contest rules.

2021 in Summary:

The year was challenging. It started off in a good way but towards the month of March, things started to fall apart in school and at home. but we made it through successfullyThankfully, I'm smart and I managed to get a good GP.
I found steemit in that same month and I'll forever be grateful for the day I found this platform. It has been life changing.
I was able to harness my talent and polish it to the best of my ability.
I lost some friends along the way. But I also had my degree in Medical laboratory technology. So I can say 2021 was challenging, but I conquered 😊.

MY GOAlS:

I had many goals set at the start of the year.

• Find my way back to God and stay on that path of righteousness.
• To get my degree with good grades.
• Learn at least 2 skills and use them to increase my earnings.
• Contribute positively in the lives of others no matter how little.
• Make external connections
• Become Atleast 75% independent by the end of the year.
• Stay true to myself no matter what

Difficulties:

The difficulties I faced were a bucket full.

• I had system failures that caused me to be always sick. As a result, I was 50% out of class and I was lacking in my courses.
• My parents started to face some financial issues that also affected my education and lifestyle as a whole.
• Myom fell sick when my dad was away on a mission. I was the only one at home and we had no money to keep up with her treatment and medication.
• I couldn't keep up with life and I started to withdraw from people. That cost me a handful of friendships.
• My promise to stay true to myself and stay on the right path at some point didn't hold cause I couldn't face my fears and so I created a mirage that could fit the thoughts I wanted others to have about me. It was the most difficult thing to do.

My Victories:

This one is very exciting..

• First, I had my 2 poems published on the poemify website in a soon to be published African poetry anthology
  
  

• I made my first 100k on my own from pure talent and hardwork. I literally cebrated it 😅🥂

• I Successfully created loads of external connections in Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Canada, Britain, and Kenya. This was a goal.

• I learnt copywriting and basic graphic designing and I've applied them in many ways which was also one of my goals.

• Most importantly, I had my degree in microbiology and medical laboratory technology with a Second class honours 🎉🥂

CONCLUSION:

Looking back at 2021, I have grown so much and I have come a long way I'm self development. Although it was a rough journey, I'm glad I made it through with a big smile.
