Places you might have not seen in UNEC (My Campus in 10 Pictures)

UNEC in 10 Pictures.png

UNEC is like a rip off of UNN, it is smaller and lacks colors in comparison to the main campus of the school in nsukka, even though it is situated in a more urban city. I am a medical student, (not medicine, medical rehabilitaion) and the sceneries in this school are just fair, there's nothing too special to be honest.

But with the ASUU strike taking it's toll on the environment, rendering the formerly filled roads empty to stupor, taking a stroll in the campus made me feel at peace to an extent. Here are the pictures, and i forgot to add, i went into school with a friend of mine and he'll be appearing in some of the pictures.

Picture 1: First street picture (Ususally crowded)

This picture shows one of the busiest roads in UNEC, the building behind my friend there is the mariere hostel, and it meets up with two other hostels not included in the picture to make the manuwa junction where my friend is standing on so freely.

Picture 2: second street picture

I like this picture cause it gives a vibe of a lone ranger ( the lone ranger in question is my friend) who looks confused and astonished that he is completely alone in such an infrastructure. Take note of the fact that there is no other living thing in view in this picture, and it is really surprising because of how busy this area is on a normal school day.

Picture 3: Third street picture (the Aisle to the biggest hostel in the school)

Ibiam is the biggest hostel in UNEC and it is a feminine hostel, it is also probably the dirtiest hostel in the school, but that does not stop it from being a landmark and a center of attraction for men all over the city to come pick their daughters (uuuhhh if you know you know). Point is, this is another busy road, but now it looks like something i could run naked on without consequences.

Picture 4: The Gym

The school gym is located in a pretty closed off area, and it was also empty at the time we visited, and so we worked out a little for free. It is fairly equipped, and has a variety of dumbbells, and other weight types.

Picture 5: The most popular catholic church in UNEC

Saint Mulumba cathedral is the most poular cathedral for catholics in UNEC in my opinion, and it gets flooded when school is in session during every single mass service. I am pretty sure you have not heard or seen this building before in any UNEC photos.

Picture 6: The tennis and Basketball court

I know this picture looks weird, but it was the best i could do. The Tennis court is stationed side by side with our open door basketball court. Both courts are in pretty horrible shapes at the moment, and not much is being done about it, cause there is no one actively using them this period i guess. Maybe when it gets fixed, @whitestallion can come train here and teach me a thing or two about tennis.

Picture 7: The Admin block with a statue of God knows what.

The Admin block is one of the first prestigious buildings you will see when you enter the school from the main gate. It is also one of the oldest buildings in the school, but i have always wondered what this double faced statue that is standing victoriously over a skull signified, maybe it is what is making UNEC so frustrating.

Picture 8: The flowers bloom but there's no one to appreciate that.

All around the school, the trees and flowers look as beautiful as ever. Their fresh colors come to light under the tropical enugu sun, but no one is actually there to notice, it adds to the mystery of the currently empty UNEC.

Picture 9: The Department of architecture

This department's building is different from other department or faculty buildings because it is built like a cave. That is what you get when an architect is given enough time to ponder on the kind of faculty building is deserving for UNEC. To enter the building, you have to climb down stairs even though you are on normal ground level.

Picture 10: The Misery building of all medical students.

The Anatomy building is like the head quarters of a horror movie for medical students. It is where practicals that last for 6 hours average are held three times a week and cadavers are stored for practical purposes. It is also a center for examinations, and it's staff members are arguably the most stubborn through out the school. It's look in this picture might give you an idea of what it does to the minds of medical students (me included of course).

An interesting piece. I have been to Unec and I must say it is such a nice place. Was looking to know if I will see the place you guys call "love garden" among your 10 pictures but I didn't. Maybe you will include it in your next captures. Thanks for sharing with us @rexxalo
