It's midnight here and I guess some of us are already fast asleep.
Well, I don't normally sleep on time and I believe some of us here are like me.

  • Let's talk about the importance of hodling

HODL

HODL is believed to be a misspelling that occurred around 2013 during Bitcointalk forum. It has ever since then become a popular term in the crypto world. Most people have even turned it to an acronym which stands for "Hold on for dear life".

Well, the aim of this post is to share some of my ugly experiences with us which I believe will guide us all on the importance of hodling in the crypto world.
I got into crypto late 2019 after buying my first coin Litcoin which I sold back a month later with just a profit of just $1.
Early 2020, I was introduced to electronuem cloud mining by a friend of mine @Alphafx. Even though I had very little knowledge of it, I still took it serious and I introduced most of my friends to it too.
To me it was all about cashing out so I was mining and was patiently waiting for the price to increase in other for me to sell off. I mined it for months till they stopped mobile mining. Then I already mined more than 2,000 pieces but due to the very low price of the coin, the 2,000 pieces was barely worth anything so I had to buy more as I wait for the price to increase. After purchasing more of it, I was having around 7,000 pieces of it.
I held it from early 2020 to around August 2020 and nothing was happening instead it was dipping so I got tired and sold off for just ₦7,000.
Today, 7,000 peices of electronuem is worth almost ₦49,000 and I believe it's still early to grab and hodl.

Before the period I sold off my electronuem, I was also hodling 1 eth at ₦110,000 which I sold off in other to get a new phone and settle some other needs. Well, I actually needed a new phone then because the old infinix hot 5 I was using then was no longer serving me but if I had seen the future in eth, I would have known how to get a phone and still manage myself while still hodling some of it. Currently 1 eth is above a million naira.
Well, I didn't dwell much on the losses before I started hustling hard again.

After a very rough 2020, we made it into 2021.
Around late January 2021, I purchased 20,651 pieces of Trx which cost me around ₦200,000 as of then. Instead of hodling, I choose to invest with a trading company and that was how it vanished and today it's worth over ₦700,000

It's mostly about patience once it comes to crypto not just patience in hodling but also patience in following a project. At the same time @Alphafx introduced me to electronuem cloud mining, he also introduced me to Pi network mobile mining and ever since, I have been consistently mining. You can click hereto download the app too and start mining effortlessly.

I'm also glad to say that the same @Alphafx also made Steemit known to me and I will certainly be the last person to give up on it too.
From experience I don't need anyone to tell me that the easiest way to make good profit out of crypto is to hodl.
I hope you learnt something from the experiences I just shared with you! Trust me, it's not something you would like to experience and for that fact, I urge you all to hodl!

Holding is not an easy thing

Exactly! That's why it's a good thing. Nothing good comes easy.

Had similar experience on two occasions, but lesson well learnt at the end of the day. Nice post

Had very similar experience with you. I sold off ethereum and tron during a panic sale period early this year. Lile @emmanuel-malume said, hodling isn't easy

Oh I'm so sorry for your loss. Losses in the crypto world hit different. But I'm glad you're now practicing the one virtue that's important to grow here; patience.

And yes, I did learn from your experiences.

Thanks alot. I'm glad you learnt something
