English classes at Golf course Elementary School, were fun especially for those who could read fluently.

As our regular MacMillan reader was read like a dialogue, central characters in the text were assigned to each person, amongst selected good readers in the class.

It was more like a bragging right for all those who could read fluently.

Truth be told, they read with some zest and enthusiasm, that caused envy in the hearts and minds of all those who were not in their league.

Shame on me, because I could barely read, still I admire the activities and wished I could raise to the occasion someday.

Nevertheless, my admiration for literary works grew further in College. Exposure to fascinating storylines and imaginary fictions of great writers, especially renowned dramatist William Shakespeare.

With time I immersed myself in literary works of great reckoning, in no particular order my favorites..

Macbeth
Machants Of Venice
Julius Caesar

Shakespeare's sense of fiction was breathtaking. Little wonder he is widely regarded as the greatest English writer and the world's greatest dramatist.

Poetry, Prose and Drama became air to me. The influence of some self indulgent literary master piece from Shakespeare et al on my personae cannot be overemphasized, as it affected my speech pattern, writing style and thoughts.

Summarily, English Literatures is my favorite subject. Many thanks to @davosimple for the timely opportunity to reminisce on something I hold dear.
