My stay in YabaTech is still going strong. I woke up at 7:00 a.m. today, it's the weekend again, and I have to get back to my normal routine on Saturday morning. Which is trashing the bin we used all week, I was woken up by my friend who made sure I got up even though I was hesitant. When I got up, I took the trash and climbed on a bike that took me straight to the trash site (an old site around Yaba is being used as trash site). After I quickly stroll to the market place which isn't far from the trash site, I wanted to buy smoked fish but unfortunately the lady that usually sell didn't come I've no choice than to turn back and go home.
When I returned home at 8:27 a.m., I quickly prepared a quick breakfast (custard and chips), then sat down on the sofa to find that my friend had already left for his morning workout. So, since I was the only one at home, I remembered my old laptop, which had been giving me problems, and I decided to give it to my friend when he returned from his workout. He checked it out and discovered the problem was the harddisk. The solution was simple; all I had to do was remove the old hard drive and replace it with a new one.
After removing the battery, I immediately started working, firstly, unscrewing the bolts that covered the hard drive.
Then I gently unplug the wire connecting the hard drive to the board, remove the rubber case from the old hard drive, put the new hard drive, reconnect it to the board, and tighten the bolts. Finally, I put the battery and turn it on.
The new hard drive has already had an operating system (OS) installed on it.
I test run some softwares on the system and all were working smooth, it still in good shape and I've decided to list it for sale on my Jiji page (a local market place)
In the evening we started preparing for the Easter celebration, we clean the house and fix some of the lights that aren't working. We watched some football match highlights and when it was getting late we decided to grab some food at the local restaurant. I had Amala and Ewedu soup, the food was very nice and inexpensive, better than the normal fast food in big restaurants and eatery's.
And I'll conclude it here - this is exactly how I spent my day: thrilling and fun.
