In a summit I attended some years ago on how to make the right career choice, the speaker encouraged young people to identify what they love doing best then think of how they could make a profit from this hobby. I went home that day, contemplating what I wanted to do but none of my hobbies seemed like something I would excitingly do for a long time and so I quit thinking of it that moment.
With experience and daily self-introspection, I began to ask myself the following questions and then provided the subsequent answers:
Who are you?
First, I am a woman who is biologically a preserver of life. Then, I am a humanist who believes that human needs should precede any other thing in the world.
What do you love doing?
Singing, writing, drawing, daydreaming, sleeping and taking care of others.
What are your goals?
- To help attain the first two UN sustainable development goals of eliminating poverty and hunger.
- To help attain the eighth SDG.
- To serve humanity.
- To sustain human existence.
- To leave a legacy.
How do you hope to achieve these?
By making food available for human consumption.
Why do you think this is essential?
The basic needs of man are food, clothing, shelter, and as a plus, education. Without these, humans will no longer exist.
What is your dream job?
Although I am acquiring an education at the moment, I do not share in the conventional dream of being a teacher, civil servant, banker or chiller with the big boys. I want to be a farmer who makes food readily available for everyone. My aim is that the world will never record any history of Udo's *Kwashiorkored head and belly or Anita's beriberi legs. This can only be achieved if food is produced in large quantities. In the long run, this will reduce the price of food that skyrockets every day, as well as, obliterate hunger. It will also create employment opportunities for others, thus, boosting the global economy.
Took time to read it and your intro post,
