In Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Voice "Convention is something made by somebody and then repeated by others. If convention feels for you if your skin bristles and your spirit stalls at the thought of doing something the way it's done, then do something about it"

What do the above entail, that we must not do things the way they are done? If you know that it does not reflect your values and beliefs, then don't do it. Don't join the bandwagon to do their thing, be the different person in a full room.
Just know that:

• You don't have to join the crowd.
• You don't have to dance to the beat.
• You don't have to sway your hips to the rhythm in the air.
• You don't have to remain silent when all you want to do is speak up, scream and unleash your anger.

YOU CAN CREATE YOUR CHANGE

A change that aligns with your narratives. You don't like the negative things happening, then try to be good in your little corner. We complain about our leaders when we also do the same in our circle. Are you doing anything different that resonates with your value?

A saying goes that Change begins with you. You can start with the little things that seem trivial;

• Like putting your wrapper of eaten snacks into the waste bin instead of on the floor.
• Avoiding wasting food.
• Be kind to people. Just because you've been treated badly does not mean you should treat others badly.
• Have empathy for others.
• Learn to say No. You must not do everything.

Work for the changes that you want to see. Other months passed without you achieving much, it's not too late to retrace your steps. Seek to be better than before.
Seek ways to always improve yourself.
Seek to go on a personal development journey.
Don't stick to the normal way of life.
Be unusual. Be different.
