When I listen to this song, it feels like it is speaking directly to me. Many times I have mentioned that I felt low within myself, I had somewhat a toxic relationship with myself in the past. It took a lot of time, understanding and patience from friends, family and myself, who directly and indirectly helped out even when they didn't have any idea they were doing such before I got out of that fudge. So when I say that this song with its lyrics are meant for me, I was serious.

I can't pinpoint the exact time that I made up my mind to live for myself. I guess I had reach end of the rope, I was tired of waiting for validation from strangers, from people whose opinion never really mattered. I realized that I wasn't living for myself, that I was bitter and sad. My parents and siblings were either the ones making plans for me even when I wrote my first jamb, my mom had already outlined what she wanted me to study in the university, she didn't stop to ask for one minute if that was what I wanted, if I could even do it. They only wanted their plans to be carried out, it got bad that I got so depressed. Thank God I realized that this life thing was not for someone else but for myself.
Reading novels and books, listening to songs and writing brought me out of that fudge, it was then that I wrote a book which I don't know where it is but the fact was that I realized I love writing.

Houston also reached that bridge were she decided to love herself. To never walk in another person's shadow. She made up her mind to stand out, to be seen and not be invisible. Every choice in life has its own consequences, it is either a positive or negative, it could backlash or it could yield positive results. The major thing was that it was going to be her mistake not another's.

I found the greatest love of all Inside of me: She understood that loving oneself is the best relationship one can get. Letting go of toxic people around her, people who taunt, mock and judge her with each words making her feel worthless were not worth being around.

I implore everyone to listen to this song, picking out the lyrics line by line and relate it to themselves. If we can achieve loving ourselves in an honest and harmless way then we can achieve greater and mightier things.
