Good morning to the entire Steem Sport community, today I want to tell you a bit of history so that we remember this excellent runner known as the Lightning and he is none other than Usain Bolt.

Usain Bolt is a Jamaican athlete and Olympic legend, with eight gold medals at the Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics.
As a child, Bolt stood out in equal measure as a great cricketer and sprinter, however, the coaches at the school he attended noticed his unusual speed, and convinced him to focus solely on running, at first, low. the tutelage of Pablo McNeil, a former Olympic sprinter.
The Jamaican first gained international attention when he won the 200m at the 2002 World Junior Championships, claiming the World Junior 200m title in 2003 and becoming the youngest junior gold medalist in history.

With the sudden success, high expectations were placed on the sprinter for his first Olympics, Athens 2004, however he failed to advance beyond the first few rounds. The result was not what he expected, so Bolt went to work to reach the Olympic summit. Three years after the Athens Games, he won a silver medal in the 200-meter world championship, heralding the great year he awaited in 2008.

Along with Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt was the star of the Beijing Olympics, in which he won three gold medals. His first victory came in the 100 meters, winning easily in a world record time of 9.69, despite slowing down in the final meters to celebrate the victory. The other two golds were in the 200 meters, breaking Michael Johnson's 1996 world record, and in 4 × 100 meters relays, breaking another world record together with his teammates.

The Jamaican, who had already become the icon of athletics, once again left the world speechless at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, winning the same three events and setting world records in the 100 (9.58) and 200 meters ( 19.19).

He could not repeat his personal triplet in the 2011 World Cup, because at the start he slightly stumbled in the 100-meter test and was disqualified, although he did not run out of his gold medals in the 200 and the 4x100 relay.
In 2012, Usain Bolt became the first track athlete to win 3 Olympic gold medals in two consecutive Olympic Games, again winning both sprints and the relay sprint with his team. Far from settling with success, he repeated this feat at the 2013 and 2015 World Championships, adding a total of five major international championships (2 Olympics and 3 World Games) in which he won the speed treble and established himself unsurpassed and as the best sprinter of all time.

The sprinter continued to compete at his highest level in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, where he also left one of his most famous phrases after winning gold in the 100-meter test: "Someone said that I am immortal, two more gold medals and I'll confirm it. Athletics needs me to win in Rio and be the best. " Said and done, Usain took the gold in the 200m event, and in the 4x100 relays.
What appeared to become the so-called triple-triple, three medals in three Olympic Games, matching the marks of the fearsome Finnish long-distance runner Paavo Nurmi and the legendary Carl Lewis, fell apart after learning that Bolt's teammate in the Los Angeles relay team. 2008 Games, Nesta Carter, had tested positive for doping in Beijing. In January 2017, Carter was sanctioned and disqualified, which also led to Jamaica losing that gold medal, reducing Bolt's total to eight golds.

In 2017, Bolt, who had been dealing with physical ailments for some time, was unable to keep up with him at the World Championships in Athletics. He finished third in the men's 100m, taking home the bronze medal behind Christian Coleman, who won silver, and Gatlin, who took gold.
It was the first time Bolt had been defeated at the World Championships in Athletics since 2007. However, his problems did not end there: in the 4x100-meter relay, he collapsed from a hamstring injury and, resentful of the pain, he needed the help of his teammates to cross the finish line. In August 2017, after the World Championships in Athletics and after a year full of injuries, Usain Bolt announced his permanent retirement from athletics.

Usain Bolt achievements:

He holds eleven world titles and eight Olympics as a sprinter, also holds the world records of the 100 and 200 m sprints, and the 4 × 100 relay race with the Jamaican team. He is one of the seven athletes who in history have won titles in the youth, junior and senior categories.

This has been a small summary of a great athlete, I hope you liked it and I invite the steemsports community to take a look to see if it is to your liking. For me up to this moment he has been the fastest man in the world.

Thank you all for your attention.
