Founded in 1926 by a merger of two Florentine clubs - CS Firenze and PG libertas. Florentina has been one of the greatest clubs in the Italian top flight winning two Italian championships in 1955-1956 season and 1968-69 season, as well as six Copa Italian trophies and one supercoppa Italiana.
Florentina boosts a lot of beautiful players in their history, the likes of Luca Toni, Batistuta, the current Juventus player Juan cuadrado played for florentina, The Tottenham Hotspur Federico Bernardesch, Juventus duo Federico Chiesa and the prolific goalscorer Vhlahoviç. Juventus skipper Chiellini also played for the Florentine side. To mention but a few. Florentina sits 13th in the current serie A season and that doesn't suit their status as one greatest in the Italian top flight.
