The Texas Longhorns are now one of only four teams remaining in the 2021 College World Series as they beat the Virginia Cavaliers by a score of 6-2 in a very late Thursday night/ Friday morning game played at TD Ameritrade park in Omaha, Nebraska. They will face the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Friday night for the rights to advance to the best of three championship series that will be played against the winner of the facing off between the Vanderbilt Commodores and the North Carolina State Wolfpack. If the Longhorns win on Friday night, they will also have to defeat the Bulldogs one more time before they can advance, as Mississippi St. currently sits in the winners bracket with a 2-0 '21 College World Series record.
