Saturday

It all started off on Saturday with a match between Liverpool and Burnley. Liverpool were looking to continue their great start to the season after beating Norwich City by 3 goals to nil and we're faced with a Burnley side who have given them a few problems recently. In the first half, Burnley were reserved and ready to play counter attacking football but Liverpool had other ideas. The deadlock was broken by a goal from Diogo Jota before halftime and this was followed by a disallowed goal from Mo Salah. This really dampened Burnley spirits because they knew game just got harder. In the second half, Burnley still retained their reserved style of play and frustrated Liverpool a bit more but as big teams do, they always find a way. Sadio Mané got on the scoresheet after a lovely move initiated by Virgil Van Dijk to seal the victory for Liverpool.

The next games were Man City vs Norwich, Leeds vs Everton, Aston villa vs Newcastle and Crystal Palace vs Brentford. Norwich got a sad return to the English top flight last week after losing to Liverpool. But their agony piled up after Manchester City gave them a whooping 5 with £100million man Grealish getting amongst the goals. The Leeds vs Everton game was arguably the most interesting this weekend. Everyone took the lead through a penalty from their main man, Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Leeds later equalised after a wonderful team move which was finished off by Klich. In the second half Everton took the lead again via a full debut goal from Demarai Gray. Leeds the equalised again from an outside 18 strike from Raphinha and the game finished. Nothing much came out from the Palace game as it ended as the first goalless draw of the season giving Palace their first point and keeping Brentford as the only new boys who haven't tasted defeat. Aston Villa got their season off & running against Newcastle after a wonder goal from Summer signing Danny Ings and a second half penalty from Anwar El Ghazi to complete the victory. The late kick off was between Newcastle and Brighton. Newcastle were eager to get their first point of the season after losing to West Ham on matchday 1 and Brighton were eager to continue their good start to the season with another win and effectively, they(Brighton) did.

Sunday

There were 3 matches show on Sunday and they featured the simultaneous games of Southampton vs Man Utd and Wolves vs Tottenham. Manchester United were pumped going into the games after the thorough breakdown they gave to leeds on day 1 but Southampton had other ideas. Southampton weren't dominant with the ball the game but had a created good chances when they had it and got ahead through a Fred own goal in the first half. Manchester United then equalised through some Scrappy play with was converted by Mason Greenwood giving him his 2nd goal of the season and handing Pogba his 5th assist in 2 games. In the other match, Wolves dominated the game more but lost due to a foul on Dele Alli in the box which resulted to a penalty that was tucked away by Alli. The last weekend game was the "big match" between Arsenal and Chelsea which Chelsea won by 2 goals to nil. Big Rom(Lukaku) and Reece James were both on the scoresheet. Arsenal havent won a single game this season and they also haven't scored a goal which is for the first time in their beautiful history.

Monday

The last match of the matchday was the game between West Ham and Leicester. According to how last season went, Leicester City were deemed as the favourites to win the game but it was not to be. In the 26th minute, West Ham took the lead through a Pablo Fornals strike and moments later, Leicester City midfielder, Ayoze Perez got a red card which really changed the dynamic of the game. West Ham doubled their lead in the second half through Saïd Benrahma. Leicester City then got a glimmer of hope after Youry Tielemans scored but a comeback was not to be as Michail Antonio got a Brace to cement the victory and with that, he became west Ham's all time premier league leading goal scorer.

This was how the premier league weekend played out and this is how the table looks like:

Good post, good information! The premier league, the best league of the world

Thank you
And yes, it certainly is😂

The top ten on the table started the season very well. I still wonder what Arsenal F.C is doing at the bottom of the table. I think they haven't realized that the aim is to win the league. They should keep fighting for the highest negative GD so that their fans would have high blood pressure. Hospitals need work sh...

Calm down @uchescrib 🤣
Arsenal just had a rough start to the season but will pick up later
Maybe they'll pick up by mid September 🤡 since they're facing man city this weekend😂 and the international break is coming up.

😂😭26 minutes into the game and they're losing 2-0 already. Musa don see enough for gate.
