when I visited Barcelona I was lucky enough to see some of Antoni Gaudí's most famous works

Antoni Gaudí was a Catalan architect who studied and lived in the city of Barcelona.

Casa Milà

He studied and influenced by Islamic and Gothic architecture.

Casa Batlló

He is the father of many historic buildings in Barcelona

Park Güell

but the most famous is the church "La Sagrada Familia"

Which was left unfinished due to him dying when he was hit by a trolleybus while walking to his daily confession at the church in the Gothic area of Barcelona.

La Sagrada Familia

Antoni Gaudí before his death was so dedicated to completing his work on the Sagrada Familia that he didn't care much about his appearance,

was generally dressed in squalor and had no identification documents with him, so when the accident occurred it was difficult for people to identify him

He had nearly the appearance of a homeless man and because of this the taxi drivers at the scene of the accident refused to take him to hospital.

He died three days later at the age of 73 and he's burried in a tomb in the Sagrada Familia.
